Jeongguk loves snow. Loved it since he was a pup clambering out of his den to fall muzzle first into the frigid fluff that blocked his nose and made him sneeze.

His mother huffed fondly, using her nose to shove him forward until his too large paws touched the cold wet stuff that sent him reeling. Indignant that his own mother would send him into the wet trap, he growled at her.

Shaking out her silvery fur, she padded into the snow and only glanced back as a way of challenge. Jeongguk, little and desperate to follow his mother, glared back at the snow as if it was personally offending him. He got to his paws, wiggled his butt, and leapt into it as a form of attack.

Except the snow swallowed him whole.

Taehyung, noticing the struggle, came galivanting over and yanked him by the scruff.

Jimin, ever amused by the youngest, trotted over and used his tail to send more snow clinging to his black puppy fur. He wiggled and whined until he was released.

Taehyung had taught him the proper way to walk so that he didn't sink too far, and Jimin would constantly nudge him to fall right back into the snow and then dart away as if he weighed nothing at all.

Ever since then, he has loved snow. Every year during the first snow fall, he would watch it fall with Taehyung and Jimin until it was heavy enough to play in.

Clambering over to the window, he let his eyes flick to the wolven greys and blacks to peer into the night and sure enough, a thick blanket of white covered the ground in heaps.

He sighed in contentment. He hoped to the Moon Goddess above that Taehyung and Jimin were sitting outside their shared den, watching the snow fall and snuggling close so they can keep each other warm.

Goddess Luna, please let them be safe and happy.

"Baby?"

Jeongguk startled, a yelp (definitely more puppy than wolf but he was so not admitting that) tore from his throat as he whipped around with eyes the size of saucers.

Yoongi, startled by his reaction, let out a small cry of his own as his hand hit his chest, right over where his heart was. "Jesus Christ on a butter stick," he swore, panting. "Jeongguk-ah, it's just me!"

Jeongguk instantly felt his face heat up, burning the tips of his ears. "Sorry- I just, I didn't even smell you. Or hear you coming."

Yoongi coughed. "Baby, do me a favor and never say that again, okay?" Jeongguk giggled weakly, heart beginning to slow as Yoongi approached slowly, hands out to guide him closer in the dim lighting. "What are you doing out of bed this early? You okay?"

Jeongguk reached out, clasping his hand and pulling him the rest of the way so that he was flush against him and peering up at messy, bed-ridden snowy fringe.

"I'm okay. Just awoke early," he explained quietly. "Sorry that I woke you."

Yoongi waved it off with a quick wave of his hand. "Is something on your mind?"

Jeongguk shook his head briskly. "No. Just- not tired, I think." He flickered his eyes out the window. "Look. The first snowfall of winter."

"Snow? Already?" Yoongi frowned, his face delicate and eyes slit as he glared out the window.

"We are literally on top of a mountain," Jeongguk remarks, arching a brow.

"It's not even Chuseok yet."

"Chuseok?" Jeongguk questioned, brow furrowing. He had never heard of that before. Yoongi looked back over, cold hands slipping under Jeongguk's hoodie. "What is Chuseok?"
