Chapter 129

Turning on her heel, the she-wolf dashes back into the forest. 

Jeongguk kisses Jia quickly, passing her off to Hoseok. The Beta took her quickly into his arms, cradling the babe against him as Yoongi and Jeongguk ran after her.

They remained in human form, dashing through and following the scent of their daughter until they broke through the bushes.

Namjoon was in his wolf form, but remained a respectful distance away from the whining wolf. Seyeon was whimpering, her scent thick and charged with lust, and Yoongi froze, nose working in overdrive.

The scent was of rut. Seyeon was presenting.

Jeongguk instantly realized this too, a whimper tearing through his throat at the raw Alpha pheromones and kept still. Dal rushes over to Seyeon's side, nuzzling and crooning at her best friend.

"Yoongi hyung, Jeongguk," Namjoon says, trotting over and pausing a few feet away. "She just collapsed and started rutting against the ground. She's presenting as an Alpha."

"Yes, I can smell that," Yoongi grits out, stepping back. "She can't be around Hayoon and Hajun, or really Jia for that matter."

Jeongguk glances towards his mate, a wry look on his face. "Her rut could last a few days, and it's her first. She needs a Beta. No Omega or other Alpha should be in the same room as her."

"I will stay with her," Dal spoke up, raising her head from where she had been nuzzling Seyeon in comfort. "I am a Beta. I can do it."

Namjoon growls low, ears pinning to his head. "Dal-ah, no. You're only fourteen."

Dal rolls her eyes. "I already presented, and I am practically an adult in wolf years, dad. Seyeon is my best friend. She needs someone around her age, not you."

"Dal-ah," Namjoon starts, but Dal snarls, blue-grey fur bristling.

"She is my best friend. I can handle her rut. I am a Beta. This is what I was made for. You and mom told me that I was always made to care for my younger pack mates. Let me do what I was meant to," Dal interjects firmly, a low growl rumbling from her throat.

Namjoon looked conflicted, glancing towards Yoongi and Jeongguk uncertainly. Yoongi meets Dal's steady, firm gaze. "Are you sure about this, Dal-ah? Seyeon won't be in her right mind."

Dal shrugs her furry shoulders. "She won't ever hurt me. I can take care of her, Yoongi. Koo. Please. Let me do this for you."

Yoongi nods once. "I trust you, Dal-ah."

Dal's tail wags, bowing her head. Namjoon grunts low, tail bristled but he did not interfere. Jeongguk squeezes Yoongi's wrist, somewhat painful, but didn't interject.

"Go tell Seok that Seyeon presented and needs his spare room. You will stay with her there. Hoseok will remain outside in the forest, in case you need any help," Yoongi says firmly, "do you understand?"

"Crystal."

Dal peers towards her father, gaze hardening. Namjoon chuffs, but obeys the silent question. He runs off back towards Hoseok's cabin to go get the Beta to assist.

Tugging Jeongguk gently, Yoongi leads the Omega away from his daughter, knowing there was nothing neither one of them could do. Jeongguk whines, keening at the idea of leaving his pup in her distress, but Yoongi is firm as he heads back to their cabin.

Once there, Jeongguk almost sobs as he sees Jisung, Hayoon, Hajun, and their youngest, Jia, nestled amongst her brothers. They were all in human form, settled on the porch and worry clear on their faces as they waited for word on their sister.
