Jimin and Yoongi fall into a pattern of cooking. Yoongi takes over the meat portion, while Jimin focuses on the side dishes and some kimchi soup that has him smiling because he is eager to show Seokjin all that he has learned.
"What is your favorite color?"
At the sudden question, Yoongi stumbles from where he was heading to put the oil away. He looks back over at Jimin, but the orange-haired only stares towards the kimchi he is pulling apart to make it smaller, and his lips pursed in a pout.
He looked more human than Yoongi had ever seen him, golden eyes squinted, cheeks puffy and some eyeliner from Jeongguk giving him an edge. He was wearing a dark turtleneck sweater, some simple slacks, but it was still enough to show how pretty and tiny the Omega truly was.
"My favorite color?" he repeats dumbly.
Jimin giggles, raising his head with flushed cheeks. "I was watching a drama with Tae, and they- they were getting to know each other." His eyes drift back to the stove. "The girl said it's important to know stupid things about people you care about deeply. Things like their favorite color, their favorite childhood stuffed animal. Their favorite animal."
"Oh."
Of course. How very Jimin.
Similar to Taehyung, the boy had such a caring nature. He was always eager to please, though Yoongi was beginning to suspect that was more of the Omega rather than the person. Seokjin is the exception to a lot of things, but sometimes even he desires praise.
He smiles faintly. "Well, I don't really have a favorite color. I don't really- I haven't really thought about it." He glances towards the counter. "I would say white, if I had to choose. My favorite childhood stuffed animal is Kumamon, a Japanese character. Still have one, actually, in my closet that my older brother had given me for my birthday one year."
"Maybe... I can see it sometime?" he asks tentatively, searching Yoongi's features.
Yoongi smiles, reaching over and ruffling orange hair. "Sure." Jimin beams, brightening. "As for my favorite animal, I would have to say dogs. Or, rather, wolves."
Jimin laughs loudly, whole body heaving over as he grapples for Yoongi's arm to hold him up so he doesn't faceplant. Yoongi easily holds him up, unbothered by the weight of the Omega.
When Jimin finally gathers himself, he straightens and brushes his orange fringe from his eyes that were still hidden by the apple of his cheeks. Yoongi smiles fondly. "Anything else you want to know?"
Jimin hums. "Not currently. I am sure I will think of something, or Taehyung will."
"Yeah, and that is very concerning. God only knows what will come out of that big mouth," Yoongi retorts, shaking his head as he returns his attention to the meat that was grilling.
"Tae, he- he was really torn up about what happened," Jimin blurts out. Yoongi glances over, seeing the way Jimin's expression falls, hand reaching up and rubbing his heart as if it was physically paining him. "With the Feral."
"Jiminie..."
"He really respects you," Jimin interjects firmly, raising his head. "He looks up to you. Admires you, not just as an Alpha. He truly respects you, Yoongi. The way Jeongguk admires Namjoon for his thoughts, and the way Hoseok cares deeply for Seokjin. He really does."
"He's a good kid," Yoongi admits hollowly, heart clenching.
"Taehyung was there first, other than Hobi," he continues, biting his lip. "He felt so helpless. He didn't know how to help that day, and Jeongguk was so far in Omega Fall that he wasn't even in a human mindset. It scared him. Jeongguk has never- he never has acted that much of an Omega before. But right there, Taehyung told me that he wasn't sure what scared him more. The fact that Jeongguk was so far into his headspace that he could barely function, or the fact that he wasn't sure he was in his right headspace either."
