"The feral wolf attacked them," the Beta states calmly, flinching when Namjoon's gaze snaps towards him. He bows his head. "I'm sorry, I wasn't here fast enough. The wolf had already injured the Omega pretty badly, and then the human-"

"Mate," Jeongguk snarls, suddenly pushing himself up and crawling forwards with bared teeth. Taehyung steps in front of Jeongguk, using his paw to press him back in the snow, keeping him still.

The Beta, Hoseok, tilts his head. "The Omega's mate stepped in, saving the Omega's life, but he couldn't get away in time and-" he cuts off, mouth pressing together in a firm line. Namjoon nods, pallor completely white as he looks back at Yoongi. "I'm sorry."

"He is losing too much blood," Namjoon comments, trembling hands reaching out and briefly touching the wound. Yoongi doesn't even stir. "There's nothing left of muscle."

Jeongguk grapples at Taehyung's fur, sharp wails emitting from his throat so loudly that Taehyung whimpers. Hoseok flinches, stepping forward on sheer instinct at the Omega Call that Jeongguk was projecting.

Taehyung snarls at Hoseok, warning him to not step closer, and the Beta instantly stops and averts his gaze in understanding.

Shifting into human form, Taehyung cradles Jeongguk in his arms as the Call dies off, replaced by broken, dry heaving sobs. Hopelessly, Taehyung nuzzles at Jeongguk's hair, kissing his temple, but nothing could ease the Omega in his arms.

Taehyung stares dejectedly towards Namjoon. "Namjoon, is Yoongi-"

Namjoon's hands drop to his sides, tears trickling down his cheeks. "We can't- we can't do anything. I don't know what to do. There is no hospital in miles- we are so fucking far from the human town." Raising his head, he stares towards Hoseok imploringly. "There is nothing we can do, is there?"

The Beta hesitates. "I don't- I don't think so."

Taehyung whimpers, this scent withering into something dark. Jeongguk whines, clawing at Taehyung's arm, but the Beta didn't dare let go. Namjoon sunk into snow, head being cradled within his hands.

The salt of his tears was bitter. The sage in his scent was burnt, assaulting their noses.

Hoseok stands slowly, walking over to Jeongguk and kneeling down with his neck bared. The Omega in Jeongguk was quivering, he couldn't think. There was nothing rational in his head as the wolf in him lingered.

He stares towards the Beta.

"Omega, can you hear me?" Hoseok asks gently, quietly. Jeongguk whimpers. "Omega, your mate- your mate is-"

"He won't leave me," he whispers brokenly. "I need him. I love him. Mine."

Hoseok nods slowly. "He is yours. I'm sorry, Omega. I'm so sorry. I was... I was too late."

Jeongguk felt more tears well in his eyes, cascading down his cheeks. Hoseok looks towards Taehyung, cinnamon hair falling in front of heartbroken amber. "Beta, we need to get him medical attention. Do you know someone who can stitch that? I have little skills, but I doubt this Omega would allow me to touch. I am not pack."

Taehyung swallows thickly, tears slipping down his cheeks. "Y-yes. Yoon-Yoongi's-" he inhales sharply, a whimper sounding as the name causes a sharp stab to his heart. "Yoongi's cabin. Jin."

Hoseok presses his lips together, nodding. "Lead the way. You have to carry him. Can you carry him?"

Taehyung's scrambled brain tries to think. Can he carry him? He was still learning how to be human, he wasn't sure he could, but he had to. He can feel Jimin's confusion and fear, cant feel his desire to come to Taehyung, but he tells him to not come. Protect Seokjin.

Before he could answer, Namjoon's voice stopped them.

"What the fuck?" Namjoon blurts, scrambling backwards, away from Yoongi. He was staring towards his best friend with eyes as wide as saucers, blood draining further from his face.

Hoseok raises his head, confusion stark on his face. Walking over, the cinnamon haired gasps loudly, falling onto his ass beside the human. Disbelief was stark on his face.

Jeongguk wrestles his way out of Taehyung's arms, scrambling over to Yoongi and felt his breath catch in his throat. The wound on Yoongi's shoulder was closing. Flesh stitching itself back together and his breathing returning to normal. The bone snaps back into place, the crunch loud enough that everyone finches, and muscles returning until it was as if nothing had happened in the first place.

It was completely healed.
