Chapter 79

The grey lunges. Jeongguk panics, lunging in front of Yoongi to protect the human as the jaws of the beast connect with his throat. Gasping when he felt his air circulation get cut off, Jeongguk snarls and snaps, but the jaws tighten around his neck.

The taste of his blood seems to spur the grey on, and Jeongguk barely maanged to place his back paws on the wolf's bare belly and dug his claws in as deep and as long as he could.

Grey released his neck, howling. Staggering to his feet, Jeongguk tries to move away but Grey charges back at Jeonguk before the Omega could gather his wits and suck in much needed air.

Eyes widening in horror, Jeongguk wals when Yoongi was there. The human slams his entire body against the wolf's shoulder, knocking the beast off-kilter from sheer shock.

Grey stumbles, his injured leg giving out beneath him. Yoongi cries out as he falls onto the wolf, losing his balance from when Grey gave way. His hands flailed as he tumbles into the snow, silver hair plastered to his white face.

Stumbling to his feet, Yoongi tried to get away, Grey's head jerking towards Yoongi with a feral snarl that tore through his lips. Yoongi couldn't see it.

Yoongi couldn't fucking see it.

"YOONGI NO!" Jeongguk screams, a bark fleeing his throat in desperation.

Yoongi's head jerks up just in time to see the grey wolf pounce, jaws open. A scream tears through Yoongi's throat when it's teeth clamp around his entire right shoulder blade, barely missing his jugular.

His scream was blood curdling, head being thrown back as his hand reaches up to snag at the tiny furs around its muzzle, to scratch at his head, and fingers digging into the beast's eye. Yoongi kicked and flailed as Jeongguk leapt to his feet, desperate to get to Yoongi.

Grey, irritated at Yoongi's hand near his eye, started to shake his head wildly, yanking an tearing at Yoongi's ski, his body nothing more than a ragdoll. The sound of a bone snapping and flesh tearing reaches Jeongguk's ears.

Stepping forwards, Jeongguk's legs give out beneath him, unable to bear the weight. He could barely see past the patches of black and white. He wails, trying to get his unresponsive limbs to work, because Yoongi is going to die.

Without warning, cinnamon fur whisks out of the foliage and leaps into the fray. A vicious snarl breaks through the grey wolf's sounds of tearing as the Beta slams his entire body against the grey wolf.

The beast releases Yoongi at the impact, his body tumbling into the snow and seeping it red. Jeongguk gapes in horror as the Beta rolls and rumbles, teeth gnashing, cinnamon fur bristled as he claws at the beast's already injured stomach as he tries to pin the Beta down, but the Beta was too fast.

The Beta cried out when the grey managed to snap at his neck, jaws clutching rolls of muscle, but the cinnamon wolf rolls himself until the wolf unlatches and then hops onto the wolf's back.

Grey howls when the Beta clamps his jaws around the wolf's spinal cord, clamping down and refusing to let go.

Grey was enraged. He bucked, rolled, bit, snapped, howled. Desperate to remove the cinnamon Beta, but the cinnamon wolf only clamped harder and harder, worrying and tearing at the bone until the grey collapses, wailing and snarling, and the Beta finally jerks his head and snaps the spine.

The grey wolf goes still, amber eyes turning to glass.

Slipping off the grey's back, he whined when he placed his left front paw on the ground, briskly pulling it back against his chest.
