Heart throbbing in his throat, Yoongi glances around the kitchen and shifts his weight. He felt cold all of the sudden, and he wasn't sure what to do.
"You okay, dad?" Jisung asks, hovering near the archway where his mother had just disappeared. Yoongi jerks up, face falling blank as he stares towards his son in surprise.
Jisung looked apprehensive, lingering in the archway and his arms wrapped around his stomach as he offered a small smile and whisked his fingers through his white hair.
Yoongi clears his throat awkwardly. "Jisung-ah, hey. What are- how long have you been here?"
Jisung gives a bemused smile. "Probably longer than you'd like, honestly." Yoongi snorts at the very Jeongguk-like answer. Jisung gestures behind him. "I came in with mom. So, I heard everything. The answer to your real question."
Yoongi's stomach twists. "Oh."
Humming, Jisung slides himself into the kitchen and settles on one of the kitchen chairs. Yoongi hovers, unsure of what to say after his eldest son just heard Jeongguk and Yoongi fight. Sure, they have had disagreements before, but never to this degree.
"I'm going to say something, dad, and I want you to listen," Jisung says suddenly, head cocked to the side and white hair glistening in the low, evening glow. God, he looked so much like Jeongguk, and it sent a pang to his heart. "Seyeon is going to be okay. Out there."
"Jisung-ah, please," Yoongi whimpers, heart cracking.
Jisung shakes his head. "If I had the choice, I would tell her to not go. To stay here, with us. To never, ever leave us. She's my twin, and I'm scared, you know?" Jisung wipes his face, sniffling. "She has always been there for me. Even when I was scared to do something. Like, climbing the trees when we were five, or looking at bugs. Shifting from human to wolf. She was there, holding my hand."
Yoongi chuckles. He can recall all the trouble Seyeon had gotten her sibling in, convincing him to be brave and follow her. Whether it be as a wolf or as a human boy, she was there to grin and tell her brother he could do anything.
"Did you know that when I became an Omega, the night I came back and we were alone in our room. Just thirteen and figuring out our roles, she told me that she was proud of me? For accepting my sub-gender and being who I was beyond that?" Jisung wonders, glancing towards his father with a toothy grin that was all teeth and scrunched nose.
Yoongi shook his head, heart fluttering.
"She did, you know. She really is just like you. Seems all tough and outspoken, but deep down, dad, she just wants you to be proud of her."
"I am proud of her. I'm proud of both of you," Yoongi rebukes, frowning.
Jisung shrugs. "I know that. I know you are." He cocks his head to his side. "But Seyeon... is hard on herself. Like you are, sometimes. Like mom. She strives for your praise, and has since she was five. I always notice it."
Yoongi nibbles on his bottom lip. "What... what are you saying, exactly?"
"Let her go." Jisung's voice cracks, wavers slightly, but his eyes burn with determination as he tilts his head. Yoongi's breath hitches. "Even if she leaves, she will come back, dad. She will always come back to us."
"She could get hurt, or worse and I wouldn't-"
"She could," Jisung agrees quietly. "Or she could thrive." Yoongi bites the inside of his cheek, tears filling and spilling over his eyes. "I told you before, I don't want her to leave. But I also want her to be happy. If this makes her happy, who am I to stop her?"
