Chapter 98

It felt strange to be able to see the town. It was Yoongi's first time actually able to see the small town that was at the base of the mountain, and all that was in it. He found himself constantly glancing at each brick, every sign and reading it with ease, and staring at every person's face that passes by from behind his sunglasses.

Seokjin mentioned that he should probably hide his eyes, since they are gold now, and someone may recognize him. He admitted that it was probably a good idea, and even brought his cane along to keep the illusion that he was still partially blind.

They had decided to come down the mountain to get clothes for Taehyung, Jimin, and Hoseok, plus picking up a few more baby things since it wouldn't be too much longer until there would be a new life in the mix.

Yoongi was slightly surprised at himself that he was actually excited to meet Namjoon and Seokjin's child. These past two weeks of pack bonding were filled with growing excitement at the aspect of the pup, watching in fascination as Seokjin fills out just a little more everyday.

It was still surreal sometimes, to Yoongi. Seeing his best friend pregnant, but also it made his heart heavy with affection, and his thoughts sometimes strayed often to what Jeongguk would be like pregnant with his child.

They hadn't really talked about it, so Yoongi wasn't even sure if Jeongguk even wanted pups of his own. He seemed excited for Seokjin's, but he never voiced his own opinion of the matter, and Yoongi couldn't find the courage to ask.

It was still delicate. Yoongi had only recently become a wolf, and Jeongguk never once even mentioned the idea of a Mating Bond. Which was alright- they were still learning one another, getting used to their new dynamics. To having pack, to being around others, and of course, the small cabin.

Yoongi knew it was a lot, but there was a restlessness in him. A constant feeling of an itch over his skin because he loved Jeongguk with everything he had, and he wanted the Mating Bond now that he knew he could give him one.

He kept quiet about his thoughts, letting himself piece everything about his new life together. There was so much happening at once that briefly Yoongi felt overwhelmed, but he was also really happy.

Hoseok has made a great addition. He was this bright shining sun in the middle of the group, but also was stern when he needed to come down on the three youngest. He was a great packmate, something that was a pleasant surprise to Yoongi.

He was also really caring. He had taken the role of being the pack "doctor" but in a very loose way. He checked over Seokjin everyday, checking the heartbeat, position of the baby, and other small things to just make sure that nothing was going wrong.

Hoseok was one of the reasons they were heading down the mountain today. To go to the bookstore and look for books on home births since, of course, Seokjin cannot go to a hospital. Most Lycan's give birth in their wolf form, according to Seokjin, and a vet doesn't seem bright either.

Yoongi was slightly fascinated by learning that Lycan's are born in wolf form, but when the mother changes form to human shape, the babe will change as well, until they are three years of age where they usually remain whatever form their parents are in the most.

It was an adaptation technique, Namjoon had said on the matter. Whatever form the parents take, the child will take as well. So if they lived on the mountain like Jeongguk's pack, they remained wolves. Or like Seokjin, who grew as a human child.

Jeongguk had no idea about that. He had been born a wolf, stayed a wolf until he made the official change to human shape when he was seven, but all the wolves in his pack ignore the pup until it returns to wolf form.
