"Jiminie and I... were devastated. Without you, Jimin was treated... so poorly. Head Alpha took me off the hunting group." Anger seeped through his words. "Told me... I wasn't fit. I couldn't be useful. And then, he was going to... force Jimin to mate... with the Alpha that you were supposed to."

Jeongguk snarls, lips curling downwards and bones in his back and ribs concaving in warning. Yoongi reached out, sinking his fingers into the black hair and stroked at the soft skin behind his ear.

Uncoiling, Jeongguk took Yoongi's hand and nuzzles it in gratitude.

"I pleaded... for Head Alpha to allow me... to mate with Jimin," Taehyung continued, the anger shifting into wilting sadness. Yoongi heard Jimin's breath catch. "He said... no. He said I was just a Beta. I had... no right to an Omega. That... our pups would be of no use to the pack."

"Taehyung," Jeongguk whispers, pained. His fingers clenched tighter around Yoongi's hand, and the human allowed him. "Jimin..."

Jimin looks away, amber eyes reflecting the flames.

"I couldn't take it anymore," Taehyung continued, voice gradually becoming steadier as he understood how to speak more fluently. "I told Head Alpha... that Jimin was mine and that... it didn't matter that I am... a Beta. He banished me. Jimin came with me."

"Were you just... wandering around?" Yoongi asks, concerned.

From everything that he had been hearing about wolves, it was dangerous to be without a pack. Harder to hunt, and to defend yourself. Having a pack was something that kept wolves alive.

Taehyung grunts, which Yoongi assumed was confirmation. "We came down the mountain, needing to get away from the pack. We weren't sure we would survive, but... we did everything we could. We had nothing of the pack left. You were dead, and then... "

"And then... you smelled Yoongi," Jeongguk concludes softly, brow furrowed and lips curving downwards. Taehyung hesitates, then grunts again.

"He smelled like you, so we... we thought he had... been the hunter who killed you," Taehyung confirms, scowling. "Which... is not true, it seems."

Jeongguk laughs warmly. "Not true at all. He smells like me because I scent him often." Yoongi rolls his eyes, but doesn't comment as both of the wolves flicker towards the human settled amongst the couch. "And I see you two have finally mated. I see mating marks and I can't even tell the difference between the two of your scents."

Jimin smiles prettily, cocking his head to the side. "Ye-s. Mate."

"Finally," Jeongguk pressed, arching a thin brow. "Do you have any idea how long I was waiting for you to finally get over it and just mate already? Seriously."

"I can attest to it," Yoongi adds absently. "He has been telling me about you two and now that I know you, yeah, I see what he meant. You're both disgustingly sweet."

"You're the one who hasn't stopped touching Jeongguk and giving him den eyes," Taehyung retorts, an edge of playfulness lifting his words. Jimin barked out a laugh, falling forwards so that he fell in Taehyung's lap while Jeongguk squeaked, turning bright red as he smacked at Taehyung's arm.

The Beta didn't even try to seem sheepish. He only smirks proudly, wrapping his arm around Jimin and keeping up the Omega so he didn't kiss the floor again.

Yoongi cuts a look towards Jeongguk, face blank. "Rolled up newspaper."

Jeongguk chortles, smothering it with a hand. "Yoongi, no."

Puffing out his cheeks, Yoongi relents. Carding his fingers through his sterling silver hair, Yoongi turns back to face Jimin and Taehyung. He offers a calm smile. "Look, I know that we just met, but I feel as if I have known you about as long as Jeongguk-ah, so... you are more than welcome to stay here. With us. I don't know if you are planning on finding another pack, or what your future holds, but I do know that Jeongguk loves you, considers you pack, and therefore I care as well. That being said, I know I am human, and that is not really something you may be comfortable with, but I would be happy to, uh, help you, uh, learn to be human. The same way Jeongguk has. To be pack." Yoongi shrugs awkwardly. "It's not much. Two humans and two Omega's, and soon a baby, but... it's pack. And you're welcome to be a part of it, if you so wish."

Taehyung and Jimin stared at him, and Yoongi couldn't make out their facial features, but he could feel their bewilderment. Smiling awkwardly, Yoongi coughed and cleared his throat.

"You both must be hungry, so I will let you catch up with Jeongguk as I make some food," he finishes, pushing himself to his feet. The pain in his ankle made his breath catch, but he ignored it as he shuffled out of the room and into the kitchen.

Taehyung's voice stops him in the archway. "You would... let us stay? Just like that?"

Glancing over his shoulder, Yoongi smiles tightly. "Yeah. Just like that."

Gathering the ingredients for bulgogi, knowing that the wolves would appreciate some meat, he makes a mental note to message Seokjin and ask him to bring some more meat, because feeding more than one wolf was about to become a bit more of a hassle than he was used to.

Yoongi's ears strained as he listened into the conversation.

"Are you sure he is human?" Taehyung asks, rather loudly, and voice thick with disbelief. Jimins giggle rang out, murmuring something that Yoongi couldn't really catch.

"Yes. He is human," Jeongguk promises, amusement clear.

"He is nothing like the stories. And his hair! Jeonggukkie, it's silver," Taehyung continues, and Yoongi was sure he was shaking his head in bewilderment. "Humans aren't supposed to have such colorful hair. It's odd."

"He calls it dye. Hair dye, or something," Jeongguk confesses, "and he used to have white hair. He looked like a snow fairy, or like... like something out of a puppy's tale."

"A handmaiden to Goddess Luna?" Jimin asks, voice slurring together from lack of practice.

If Taehyung's voice was deep like an ocean trench, and Joengguk's voice was like a bird's song, then Jimin's was like a fallen angel.

Jeongguk hums. "Yoongi meant it, Taehyungie. Jiminie. You can stay. Here. With us." Yoongi's breath catches, tossing the now cut up meat into the pan and seasoning it carefully. "It's just us four, right now. Namjoon is- he is a good human. He is mated to an Omega named Seokjin. Goddesses, Mini, you would love him. And he is pregnant with pup, and so we are going to have puppies around soon. And- and we can be pack again. Be safe."

"You would... really let us stay?" Jimin asks.

"You're family," Jeongguk presses, voice strained. "I want you to stay. Always. Yoongi can teach you how to be human. He's so good, so kind. He seems grumpy, but he is just like a mountain cat. He is so patient with me."

"Jeonggukkie," Jimin breathes, voice muffled and barely audible. "You're in love with him."

"Yes."

"But- you can't have a Mating Bond with a human," Taehyung replies tersely, and Yoongi feels as if the words were a blow to his gut. A reminder that he cannot offer that, no matter how much he wishes he could.

"I don't need one," Jeongguk says, breathing air back into his lungs. "Yoongi is more than enough. A Bond doesn't have to tell me that he loves me. I just know he does."

It was quiet, neither of the wolves breaking the silence of the moment. Yoongi bit his lip, narrowing his eyes as he checked to make sure the meat was cooking properly as he tried to lower his heart rate that had jackknifed.

"I'm so happy for you, Jeonggukkie," Jimin finally says, voice clear and bright. "I've been worrying about whether or not you will ever be happy with a mate, or that you will ever accept who you are and... I am really happy for you."

"Mini," Jeongguk whispers, and Yoongi just knows that the Omega is crying even though he will be trying not to. Yoongi resists the urge to go to him, to wipe his tears and erase the sadness, but he keeps himself glued to where he was. "Thank you."

"We'll stay," Taehyung speaks up calmly. "As long as it's okay, we will stay. Meet the pack, and see if... see if maybe we can become pack too."
