The snow hadn't melted at all the next few days. Jeongguk was more than pleased, venturing outside more than he usually would to meander more in his wolf form.
Much to Yoongi's chagrin.
Yoongi remained inside instead, trying to finish the pile of work that he had before Chuseok. Like promised, he told Namjoon that he couldn't make it, and Jeongguk felt a little bad, but the smile on Yoongi's face was bright, and the guilt faded into excitement.
Namjoon didn't seem too upset, a little sad, but not angry. Even though Jeongguk never met the human, he knew that Namjoon was Yoongi's pack, and so he was important. The wolf in him registered that, so he was pleased that he merely accepted Yoongi's pathetic excuse.
"It's all snow here, Joon-ah. The idea of going outside terrifies me."
"It's snow? Not fucking acid."
"Is there a difference?"
"Oh, whatever. Please kindly freeze to death."
Yoongi had informed Jeongguk, very patiently, that Namjoon was kidding, and he wasn't actually mad or wishing for Yoongi's very untimely demise at the hands of the snow.
Because of the workload, though, Jeongguk enjoyed just running around outside, dashing through the forest so he could have some time to return to feeling more like a wolf.
Sometimes, he swore he forgets that side of him when he near Yoongi, who treats him so well.
Yoongi didn't seem too bothered, either. Always telling him to be careful and not to come home too late, and Jeongguk always felt his heart leap out of his chest at the word "home".
It was three days until Chuseok, and Jeongguk was buzzing with excitement since tomorrow would start Yoongi's official time off, and the human promised Jeongguk that would spend it all together, doing whatever Jeongguk wants.
"I'm going to take a quick shower before I start lunch," Yoongi says, coming around the corner from where he was sitting at his desk to the bedroom where Jeongguk was watching YouTube videos on the bed.
Glancing up from a video on the history of Chuseok, which he was pleased Yoongi taught him how to use the voice activate button since he couldn't exactly read Korean, and neither could Yoongi.
"Okay, that's fine. I'm not quite hungry yet, anyways," he answered, smiling sweetly.
Yoongi chuckled, leaning down and capturing a quick kiss (drive-by smooches as Yoongi dubbed them) before he disappeared into the master bathroom.
Settling back into watching the video, Jeongguk nuzzled into the scented blankets with a contented sigh.
With the colder weather, Yoongi and him spent more time snuggling together to keep warm, so their scents were perfectly infused.
It made Jeongguk smile.
Because Yoongi was human, they could never truly complete a mating bond. The human body and mind were just unable to handle the strain or have the ability to actually bond with a wolf, so he would never know what it would feel like to have a full bond.
A mating bond amongst wolves is sacred, something that no matter the pack, a wolf does not interfere with mates that bonded. It was only between Lycan's, giving the mated pair the unique ability to smell of each other, feel each other's emotions, and in some cases, able to speck telepathically only to each other.
