We're more alike than you think

24. Oh man

"Oh man, oh man, this is the best thing I've ever seen. This means they talked things out, do you guys understand how great this is?" you woke up by the sound of a way to eager Sam taking photos of you and Bucky. Your face was luckily facing Bucky's chest so you didn't need to face him and whoever he talked about. Bucky was somehow still in deep sleep, which was almost impressive when Sam talked so loud.

"You're gonna have to wake them up real soon, we need to go now if you wanna meet Nagel" Sharon said. Okay, Sharon catching you like this was okay, that was fine. She had definitely seen you way worse than sleeping fully clothed next to a friend. "Bucky never sleeps, I don't know if the mission is worth waking him up" Sam said in an almost fully serious tone. You smiled a little by Sam's worth, maybe the talk the two of you had before you fell asleep eased up his mind a little, at least enough for a couple of hours of sleep. Bucky suddenly moved his arm bringing you closer to him.

"Well, if you won't wake them up, then I will" you heard Zemo said with annoyance as you heard his steps towards you. The second he laid an arm on your shoulder you grabbed it and turned around so you could see his face. It was priceless. Everyone started to laugh beside Zemo before you took one finger up to your lips trying to get  them to be quiet. You sat up, not noticing that Bucky was waking up. 

 "The party was a little bit too much for the old guy" you said with a laugh before you felt both of Bucky's arms embrace you dragging you into his body "I heard that" he said with a tired voice as he sat up beside you.

They started to talk about the mission, but you couldn't help but notice the fact that Zemo was speechless for the first time. You didn't know why you cared, but it made you happy. He walked around on this mission thinking he knew so much better than the three of you and even if you and him had a couple of nice conversations here and there, you knew you shouldn't let in to his charm. You stood up and walked behind where your little preparation box was. You could feel Zemo's eyes following your every move, but you chose to ignore him. You opened the box and the batons came flying straight into your hands. You played with them between your fingers before you turned the way.


"Are you guys ready?" you asked them and led the way out the door. This time you had the upper hand with the boys, both you and Sharon really. The two of you knew way better than the boys how Madripoor and their people worked. You sat in the front of the car together with Sharon who drove it. The boys in the back were already annoyed at how little space it was back there.

"Y/n this is why you have always have to sit in the back" Sam said and clapped you on your shoulder. You looked back at him with a laugh "or maybe, just maybe we should learn how to split a car" you said with a light smile on your lips. "What1s the fun in that?" Sam said eagerly with a smile before he leaned back.

"Okay, but hear me out, we need to delegate where we go and visit Nagel" Sam said and looked around. "I'll have an eye from the outside" Sharon quickly replied. You still had your suspicion about Sharon and if you could really trust her, but you trusted her enough to keep an eye on us. She knew what you could really do if you wanted to, so that made you relax at least while you were here. "Y/n will have an eye and responsibility for Zemo" Bucky added. You looked a bit surprised back at him, but still glad as it meant that he trusted you enough to handle Zemo.

"Great," Zemo said annoyed and stepped out of the car the second Sharon stopped the car.
