"Y/n, speak" Charles said and didn't move his fingers. You had one baton pointed back at the others and one towards Charles. You froze in your position. One wrong word and Logan's claws would be going through your body or even worse... having Charles reading your mind. You opened your mouth, preparing yourself for their reaction, before McCoy stepped up beside you.

"I let her in Charles, she needs our help, your help" he admitted.

Charles couldn't even hold in the smile when he heard what Hank just said. This must be a dream for him. Irka was right, Charles always welcomed you back, but for all the wrong reasons. He enjoyed seeing you crawl back begging for help, or at least that's what you've been telling yourself. You carefully leaned down and put the batons on the floor and held your hands up. You looked up at McCoy and gave him a short thankful nod, it wasn't his fault that Charles was an idiot towards you.

"I am only here to talk" you confirmed. Charles looked you up and down before he looked back at McCoy, giving him a nod. McCoy gave you a short smile and turned back to the others, waving them out of the room. The door was closed as Charles walked slowly towards his desk, leaning on it. He clearly was analyzing you. You hated this part, but you knew Charles wouldn't let go, so you had to play along.

"Is this when I have to admit that I'm impressed that you got in, all just with a veil and batons without even using your powers?" he said with a cheeky smile on his lips. You rolled your eyes at him before you picked up your batons and put them back in your holsters. "You know, if I knew how important I was to you, we could've scheduled a meeting" he said with a laugh.

"Oh, that's bullshit and you know it" you said walking past him and sat down in his chair behind the desk. If Charles wanted to play games, you were more than willing to do so with him. You put up your legs on his desk and took off that ridiculous yellow jacket you had on. "If you knew I was coming, you would've had this place on high alert, don't lie" you said and pointed a finger at him. He looked over his shoulder at you. He crossed his arms. You weren't wrong, he would absolutely not let you in. That being said, he had missed your banter, so when you first entered, he could admit it wasn't that bad.

"How have you been love?" His voice softened up and instead of an annoying smirk it was a genuine smile on his lips.

"If my father heard you calling me that you wouldn't live for long" you looked down at your hands and laughed. You tilted your head and looked up at him. Charles stood up and walked slowly up behind your chair. His hands landed on your shoulders.

"But he isn't here, is he?" he whispered in a playful tone.

You snapped out of it and stood up from the chair. Maybe... just maybe, in your rebellious phase when you were all about sticking up your finger at your father...you found yourself in Charles' arms. It was silly, and no feelings between the two of you, but it definitely made things complicated. You met Charles when he tried to do what Tony did, get you back on the right track, but it only worked for a few months and it left the two of you on a really bad note.   Charles was as old as your father, and even if he looked good it was strange looking back at it. You turned around and sat on the desk.

"Charles, I'm here because of my powers... I want to be able to use them again" you said with a serious look on your face. As much as you loved staying here and annoying them, you knew you had to get back to the boys as quickly as possible. Not because they necessarily needed you, but you needed them. Charles sat down in his chair and carefully took your hands in his.

"And you struggle to control them?" he asked looking up at you. You gave him a short nod.

"I don't know why.. I can feel the magnetic field, but it gets cloudy and I'm not stable while using it" you said low. You weren't exactly proud to say that you weren't able to wield your powers. You were basically born with them, it should be easier than riding a bike to you. It didn't help that your father was a Omega level mutant with the same exact powers and here you couldn't even dugle a bullet correctly.

"I have two things I would like to try, if you're okay with it?" he said with a weak smile as the two of you stood up. You gave him a short nod.

"Let me get Logan and Hank in, relax for a minute" he said softly, giving you a clap on your shoulders before he went out of his office.
