"My father is acting very dad like so if he says anything stupid please ignore it" you warned them. Sam and Bucky looked at you confused, while Zemo laid his hand on your shoulder and looked proud over at the boys.
"He is being completely normal, you're just not used to having a daddy," Zemo said confidently looking down at you with a smirk. Sam immediately started to laugh at Zemo and you knew exactly why. Bucky didn't understand anything and Zemo seemed just as confused as why Sam was laughing.
"I thought Zemo was your daddy?" Sam teased punching you lightly in the arm. That's when Zemo and Bucky caught on.
"That's not what I meant, not that I wouldn't if you wanted me to. I'm very open to expl.." Zemo started, trying to save himself from his little mistake.
"Shut up all of you, let me talk with him," You said harshly interrupting Zemo. Your cheeks were red, and it was no doubt that you wanted to punch Zemo for putting you in this situation. usually, he was such a smart man, but right now he was simply leaving you out to dry.
You knocked on the door and stepped into the room. Your father was wearing a black turtleneck and jeans sitting by the desk writing. He should've been in bed trying to heal, but you were the last person to criticize him. Guess it runs in the family. He turned around to face you, surprised to see you and all your friends.
"What have I done to deserve this visit?" he asked and stood up, clapping his hands together.
"Karli," You said going straight to the point.
His eyes dropped to the floor as the guilt crawled upon him. He should've seen that one coming from you. You never laid down for long and it was only a matter of time before you would counter-attack him. In this case, he admitted that he deserved it. He pointed down at the seating area. Lucky for him you were in a good mood and you sat down, the same did the boys. Bucky in his chair, Sam and Zemo on each side of the couch with you in the middle.
Bucky and your father had met before, or rather the Winter soldier and Magneto had met before. It wasn't many brain cells you needed to understand that they didn't work perfectly together. Your father wasn't exactly a big fan that your boyfriend at the time was an assassin for Hydra, a nazi organisation. Of course, he knew that Bucky was a changed man and had been used by Hydra, but he still wasn't thrilled by the man.
Sam, Sam he liked. Sam was a simple man, but with morals. He had massive respect for what Sam was fighting for. The whole 'Captain America' thing wasn't something he cared much for, but if anyone was supposed to wear a flag on their chest Sam was the only one he would've supported. Your father may don't know anything about being a black man in America, but he knew how it was to be a minority that never got seen, heard or respected. If it was any of the men he self could've picked for you, it was definitely Sam your father would go for.
Then there was Zemo... Where should he even start? The man was a domestic terrorist, who specific tried to murder and set up enhanced human beings, simply because of their powers. Your taste in men worried your father, but... he saw how happy Zemo made you, and from the second Zemo stepped into Genosha to convince him to help you, he saw that Zemo cared deeply for you. You had changed Zemo. The hatred he had inside, the fears he had, was now gone. That was something your father could never do, so maybe that meant it was actually hope for the two of you.
"I don't care why you were in contact with her, I know it was because of my powers. Totally not have forgiven you, but you now have a chance to help us," you said and laid every card on the table.
"I'm sorry for pushing you to out yourse...'' your dad tried before you cut him short.
"Do you have any idea what she is up to? Could you contact her if not?" you said. No time for excuses. Well, he couldn't blame you for it. You had all the right in the world to be mad at him. If he hadn't threatened you through Karli about your true identity, the whole world wouldn't have known who you were now. Maybe you wouldn't even have been in prison. He knew he had been selfish. He didn't care for Karli at all, it was all just to simply push you, so he had no issue telling you the truth about her.
"Their goal is to stop the Global Repatriation Council meeting committee where they will be voting on the Patch Act," He said and leaned back.
You looked up at Sam who nodded weakly. It made sense for Karli to attack the politicians. What immediately worried you was how public it would be. Not only would that make things difficult for you, but also for Zemo. He was a wanted man, being seen publicly in New York was gonna be a big issue for him that could sacrifice our mission.
"Do you know who she is working with?" you said and looked back at your father. He took his time to think about your question before he shook his head.
"She mentioned something about a powerbroker, she wanted me there, but I don't need to tell you that I didn't exactly plan to go there," he said, not even caring one bit about Karli.
You rolled your eyes at him. Sometimes you wish that your father would have opened up his mind a little bit more. Karli was nineteen, of course, she thought she could win the world over with a snap, and having Magneto by her side was not bad for a grass-root movement. Your father simply looked at her as a chess piece. You held in the frustration you felt for his attitude and gave him a weak smile and stood up. "If she contacts you again, you don't answer," you said with a little nod. The guys stood up with you as you started to walk towards the door.
"Wait Y/n!" your father said when you stood right with the door. You took a deep breath and turned around to him. "You can't seriously think that you can go out there?" he continued. You crossed your arms, waiting for him to explain why that was such a terrible idea.
"Everyone and I mean everyone knows who you are. People will ask questions" he said with concern.
You had to laugh. This was the first time you heard him talk to you like this, I actually worried for you. What made it even more ironic was the fact that he admitted that he was a part of the issue. People would ask, cause most people knew who your father was and would ask questions based on that.
"Remember, I'm better with humans than both you and Charles. I'll wear something nice and give them a smile."
