You woke up and sat up against the wall. Nothing mattered anymore. If you woke up or not, if you got out of this cell or not. Life would never be the same the second you stepped out of this prison. The whole world was now looking for you. It was a reason why Tony wanted you behind the scenes and not on the world stage. Now you were stripped away from having that choice. You didn't have the amount of money needed to bail yourself out either. Gosh, that price was record breaking high. It felt more like a symbolic gesture. They knew they had to give you a possibility to get out by law, but they put it so high that it was impossible for you. You hit the back of your head to wall aggressively.

"Love, you need to be careful" you suddenly heard a familiar voice say from the side.

You turned around to see Charles standing with the glass wall. They had put a power demping collar on him as well. It looked like he was at the breaking point of crying and fought to hold in the tears. He was wearing a grey suit with a white shirt. If it wasn't for the circumstances you would be complimenting him, but you hadn't been talking for almost a week now. Your mouth was dry and lost its charm. You stared at him for a couple of minutes before you turned your face to the wall again.  You were embarrassed just by the fact that Charles saw you like this.

"How long have you been standing there?" you asked.

"Two hours," he said softly.

You shut your eyes and leaned your face on your knees, hiding your face from Charles. This was a nightmare. You were in a cell, just like your fathers, in who knows where, drugged down and bound up, in front of Charles. You were always the strong one, the muscle out of the two of you. You would always fight and get into big discussions, but he loved how stubborn and independent you were. Now he stood on the other side of the glass, looking in at you down on the floor.

"Y/n... I'm.. I'm sorry" he stuttered

You immediately started to cry when you heard him say your name. You wanted out of this prison, but even if you got out, it would just be another prison meeting you on the outside. Your body was shaking, and even if you tried to hide your face, he could see that you were crying. A tear fell down his cheek. He felt like he had failed you. You came to him for his help and support, and a week later you were locked up. He knew you feared your own powers and how people saw you. He had judged you for so many years for not using your powers, but the second you did the whole wide world attacked you.

"Y/n, please, can we talk?" he said and tried to clear his voice, but you could still hear how emotional he was.

You looked up at him. It was the first time you had seen Charles cry in front of you. In some selfish strange way, it almost felt good seeing him this vulnerable, it made you feel less lonely. You pushed yourself up against the wall to get up. You grunted in pain before you walked over to the glass wall. You looked down at the floor. He had already seen you down on the floor helpless, so this wouldn't change anything. Charles couldn't maybe read your thoughts anymore, but he understood what was going through your head. He sat down on the floor on the other side of the glass with no hesitation. You looked down at him and he gave you a weak smile, letting you know that it was okay. You let yourself fall down to the floor, sitting face to face with him.

"I wanted to bail you ou..." he started

"Charles don't, it would cost you the whole scho.." you interrupted him and shook your head, before he took over again.

"No, listen to me. I wanted to bail you out, but somebody had already done it" he explained. You looked at him, taken back by the information he had just given you. You lifted your chin.

"Somebody paid all 25 million dollars?" you asked, trying to clarify if you heard him right. You didn't wanna hope for something that wasn't real. This wasn't the time for beliefs, you needed cold hard reality. He nodded his head.

"I tried to get the payeer's name, but the payeer wanted to stay anonymous," he said.

You closed your eyes. Who could it be? Yes, you had connections to people who were rich, but the price we were talking about was insanely high. No 'causal' rich person had money in this life. What you feared most was that it was your father. It would make sense with the fact that the payeer wanted to be anonymous. This could've been his plan all along. He knew you wouldn't give in to Karli and do the right thing with Walker. This way he could perfectly set you up for prison. The only piece you couldn't set together was the money bit. Yes, he could have stolen the money, but why wouldn't he just break you out of the prison?

The only person you really knew who had that amount of money accessible was Pepper Stark, but if it was her she must have gone fully crazy to think that you were worth getting out. She knew that you could never repay her and most surely would only cause more problems for them out of prison than inside. If your connection to Stark got public, it would only hurt them. Yet again, it would make sense that she would like to be anonymous exactly because of that.

"You will however need legal help when you're out of here, and I have fixed and paid for a highly talented lawyer who will meet you before you get bailed out... He is a specialist with people like us and if things get.. bad with the payeer, he will be able to help you," Charles explained to you. You nodded your head. You tried to take in all the information he was feeding you, but it's been a long time since you had to interact with somebody like this.

"His name is Matt Murdock, and I promise you that you can trust him. Okay?"
