58. Trust II

"I know you guys like Sharon, but I do not trust her. Zemo is going to be in the building on a floor under us and give us directions on a satellite" you said strictly. All three of them were now groaning in annoyance at you.

"We have no reason to not trust Sharon, why don't you trust her?" Sam asked and threw his hands in the air.

"And how is Zemo gonna give us directions, we have no access to satellites from here?" Bucky asked harshly.

"Do you not trust me?" Zemo asked, offended. If you didn't know better, these three men were just three babies acting like spys.

"Nope, all of you are wrong. Think about this. Sharon was disbanded from S.H.I.E.L.D 8 years ago, she then came over to me in Madripoor half a year later. Remember, I started helping her out. Remember what I have told you about my bounty years? I wasn't exactly within the law and everything I did was dripping in blood. Sharon has clearly reached even higher in level than I ever did. Maybe you don't like to hear it, but she is a crime lord. You can't seriously believe that she is helping you guys out on only good will? She is doing it to get something out of it, what exactly haven't I figured out yet." you said and looked at Sam dead serious. You could see that it made him uncomfortable, but at least he didn't snap at you. Bucky was even noding to what you said, so you weren't that far out of reach.

"And yes we have a satellite. Zemo will be using my toolbox. I can lock it to only that, so he won't have access to anything else," you said to Bucky. You looked over to Zemo. His question was probably the hardest one to answer.

"It's not about not trusting each other. We have to be realistic and play this safe. Your record clearly shows that you cannot be trusted, not even of your own clear thinking in the heat of a battle. Maybe you want to change and prove yourself worthy, but this is not the mission to explore that. Karli is clearly being serious and we need to stop being naive about it" you said to him.

He was clearly a bit hurt by your words, but he gave you a little nod. Deep down he understood why you were saying what you were saying. Honestly, if he was in your shoes he would've done the exact same thing. That didn't mean it hurt any less. He knew he had to prove himself and not being able to be by your side now meant it would only take longer until he could get that chance and that was a time that he didn't have.

"As much as I like to disagree with her, she is right Sam. " Bucky said looking over to Sam.

You smiled weakly over to Bucky. It was nice when the two of you didn't argue, though this was a subject you knew that he would agree on. Bucky was the only one who really knew you back in your bounty days and he knew perfectly well what that environment could do to a person. He didn't know if he believed Sharon had gone full on evil like you, but he agreed that it was a possibility she was helping you guys for more of a selfish reason.

"Okay, let's do it your way, but if Walker shows up I want all men on deck, that means you included" Sam said and pointed over at Zemo. You took a deep sigh and tried to keep yourself calm. You didn't agree with his decision at all, but Sam had just approved all your changes so you knew you couldn't argue on one tiny little thing.

"Y/n, you may not trust Zemo, but trust yourself. If Zemo makes one tiny mistake, you take him out." Sam said, looking at the two of you.
