26. Stay

Your eyes opened in shock and Zemo couldn't hold back a little smile. You realised what situation you were in and turned to look around. The flames were high and you couldn't see anyone else "Sam!?" you screamed searching through the flames. "What did you do Zemo!?" you said and pushed him back in panic. If this was his plan all along, you would kill him right here on the spot. He grabbed your hands when you pushed him and wrapped his hands around your body.

"I don't have time to argue with you, I need us to get out of here!" he said in anger and lifted you up in bridal style and out of the place, seconds before the whole place exploded.

"Zemo I promise you, if this is a part of a grand plan I will kill you!" you screamed trying to kick and hit to get free, but he didn't let go of you. He didn't even say a word, he just took every hit you gave him. He put you down when you were at a safe distance.

"Stay." he ordered you as he took on a mask and went to the front of the container. He pointed the gun and seconds later you felt the heat waves from a second explosion. He jumped down the containers and you immediately ran over to the front, begging to god Bucky, Sharon and Sam didn't stand in the middle of it, but what you saw shocked you even more. Zemo was slaughtering the bounty hunters like they were nothing. You had forgotten that he was more than a manipulative mastermind, but could actually fight. The years he had spent in EKO Scorpion as their leader was more than visible.

You snapped out of it and jumped down the containers. Sam ran over to you "You good?" he asked and dragged you into a hug. "Yes" you mumbled, still in shock over Zemo's actions. "What about you guys?" you asked and looked back at Sharon and Bucky. Bucky gave you a short nod. "We are good, but where is Zemo?" Sharon asked. You let go of Sam and walked out to the shooting scene. You had lost him, but you didn't wanna admit it.

Bucky slowly walked over to you, he understood what went through your head. You tried to alter the magnetic field and feel Zemo in it, but you couldn't. It was too much pressure and your mind wasn't clear. Bucky tried to take your hand but you immediately took it back. "Don't" you said with a harsh tone and seconds later regretted how you spoke to him. You looked up at Bucky frustrated.

"I lost him"

He gave you a nod, but before he could speak up you took the word back.

"Okay, okay he was my responsibility, you trusted me Bucky, I will find him" you said and turned around to see Zemo driving in a car with a smirk on his lips. He took your hand and kissed it

"Did you miss me?"
