"Your lawyer is here, you need to wake up" A guy yelled down at you kicking his foot at you, like you already weren't in enough pain. "Maybe you guys should stop drugging me down" you replied with a harsh tone as  you opened your eyes and stared dead seriously into the guy's eyes. He immediately stopped and you didn't even need to do anything for him to get scared. You rolled your eyes at him and sat up against the wall. Your body felt wired. It's been a longer time than usual since they last gave you anaesthesia. You bit your tongue carefully to water up your dry mouth. The door opened as a man entered the room.

"Have you ever seen a more beautiful place than this?" you asked, not even looking at the guy. You respected lawyers, but you weren't very fond of them. Some did what they were supposed to, like fighting for justice, but most were as criminal and corrupt as the person they fought or defended.

"Little bit ironic to ask a blind guy that, don't you think?" he said with a laugh. You immediately looked over at the guy. He was wearing a black suit, white shirt and black tie. Covering his eyes he had a pair of dark red coloured sunglasses. He even walked with white cane. It was perfectly clear that this Matt dude was blind and you were being an asshole. You looked down at your hands.

"I'm sorry, I didn't look before I spoke," you said, then you realized that what you were saying now sounded even worse. "I am so sorry, I got no other excuse. I'm just being an dick," you said, now your voice was softer. Matt only laughed at you, so he couldn't be that offended by you.

Why Charles thought sending a blind dude was a good idea, you had no clue about. Charles even said this person was supposed to be able to 'help' if it would be needed against the payeer and maybe you were being even more judgemental, but you couldn't really imagine Matt being able to go up against your father. He could try and throw that cane at him, but your father would probably melt it already in Matt's hand.

"It's all good, why don't you come closer?" he asked. His tone was welcoming, which was nice for a change. Matt didn't know you personally, so he didn't talk to you like a baby, but he didn't yell or drug you down either. The list over things you liked in a person was now bare minimum after spending time here. You lifted yourself up against the wall and walked over to him. He was about a head taller than you, and now that you stood closer you could admit he looked rather handsome. Maybe it was a good thing he was blind, so he didn't see how disgusting you were looking right now. He suddenly pointed to your neck

"Is that from the anesthesia you told Charles about?" he asked.

You got a little taken back by the fact that Matt who was blind was able to see or notice the mark from the anesthesia on you. You nodded your head weakly to his question. Was Matt one of us? Was he a mutant? Maybe he had some sick power that made it possible for him to see in other ways than through his eyes? It totally made sense that Charles would ask for help from a fellow mutant, but at the same time sending mutants to this place was a big risk. Of course Charles himself was willing to take that personal risk for himself, but you were unsure if he would risk another mutant for that. Matt tilted his head, still waiting for an answer when you realised that you had just nodded and not said something.

"I'm sorry, I just nodded my head to you, but yes it is," you clarified.

"I'm sorry I'm acting like this, normally I'm not like this, but the last week here has just been rough" you explained. You were acting like a complete idiot and you weren't even trying to, but your head just couldn't seem to wrap your head around the situation.

"Y/n, you can relax. I'm more used to this than it might look like and Charles has told or rather showed me everything about you. You don't need to feel like you have to prove anything," he said with a warm tone. You looked over at him with a smile, thanking him. He talked you through how the process normally goes, what papers he will be singing for you and what changes he thought might happen. Everything sounded very simple, which after this week here you couldn't really believe that it would be.

"Physically walking out of this prison is easy, what you will be facing outside of prison is another question, especially considering your health condition relating to this drug. We have agreed with the payeer to send you directly to Charles school for treatment" he explained and straighten himself up

"Wait, the payeer agreed to send me to Charles?" you asked all shocked.

"Little bird, did you miss me?"
