51. News flash

"Ah! How'd you find us now?" Bucky said. John and Lemar were fully suited up, which seemed strange as all of you were with civilians. You shrugged low and looked down at the girl who stood between you and Zemo. You never wanted to get kids for yourself, but it didn't mean you didn't care for the young ones. You leaned down to her and gave her a little smile as you took out your hand, offering her to hold yours, and she did. Zemo couldn't help himself to notice your little interaction with the young girl. The guys were discussing, but he was much more interested in you. John was like a ticking bomb, so you took the little girl and distanced yourself from the others as you passed them.

"I know where Karli is," Zemo said as he took his eyes away from you and back to John. He then started to walk, but John put his hand on his chest. You couldn't help but roll your eyes at how Walker acted. "You don't like that man?" the young girl laughed. You blushed a little. She shouldn't know anything about how you felt about anyone. The boys walked and stopped as they discussed.

"Bad man" you said jokingly back as the boys started to walk up towards you.

"That's exactly what the man with the coat said about you guys!" she said innocently.

You couldn't help yourself but to laugh as Zemo walked up towards you. "Really? That's what he said?" you asked to make sure you heard right from the girl. She nodded eagerly. She seemed to enjoy the situation, which was nice. When the boys joined you to the top, Zemo walked up the girl and gave her 500 € that she gladly took. Zemo looked over at you and for the first time, you looked back at him. It wasn't a smile or anything, but you didn't look away either. The girl held your hand tight as she walked into the back of a building. She led you to a door and pointed up at the stairs without saying anything. She looked back up at you with a little smile as she let go off your hand and gave you a little wave with her hand as she walked up the stairs.

"Karli is in there," Zemo says as you turn around to them. Sam gave you a short smile as he passed you walking up to Karli. Seconds later John takes Zemo's arms and cuff him.

"Hey. You got ten minutes." John warned Sam.

"Really?" Zemo groaned. John almost seemed uncomfortable with Zemo.

"Then we're doing things my way." John continued, ignoring Zemo.

"Aggressive," Zemo said and looked after John. Zemo then looked over at you with a teasing smile "I like it."

You rolled your eyes. This was the idiot speaking again. Maybe the best thing John ever had done was to cuff Zemo and if that was the best thing he would've done in all his life, you couldn't say it was a bad hill to die on. The man seemed to have some issues or maybe he just was even more impatient than you were, cause he kept walking back and forth. Seeing the shield on him felt wrong, but it wasn't only that. Seeing two men in Latvia wearing the American flag, in a combat suit, was wrong and you couldn't hold it in anymore.

"I just have to ask, why are the two of you suited up in the American flag?" you said as you slowly walked over to Bucky. John looked at you, clearly offended why you would bother to ask such a question, Lamar looked more surprised than shocked. It was the first time you had spoken to them since you met, and this isn't necessarily the introduction Captain America would've liked.

"I am Captain America, I wear the flags and stripes?" he said waving his hand. You laughed low, which triggered him even more. Bucky looked down at you with a little smile and shook his head, hinting to you that you had to stop laughing.

"Okay, well, news flash, but you are not in America anymore" you said and slowly walked closer to him. You could feel all their eyes on you, but yours was only on John.

"Walking around, in a combat suit with a flag on, with the American flag on... casually walking down the street with civilians, really doesn't look good" you said with a little smile.

"America has a gruesome history, walking in on other countries, fighting their wars, destroying and taking the lives of civilians... I'm not saying that's what you are doing here, but for many of.. us, that's what we associate with how you're holding your flag, in our countries" you said and put pressure on the pronouns, making sure he understood it was a major difference between the two of you. You knew John was just a government toy, but you could bet that he wasn't authorized to even be here. It wasn't hard to understand. 

"I bet you don't even have jurisdiction to be here, John?" you whispered and tilted your head.  

That's the moment John couldn't hold it anymore. He threw you to the wall and was ready to yell at you, but Lamar stopped him before he ever could. "John, you need to stop, she is only teasing you" Lamar was saying as he tried to hold John away from you, but he was clearly eager to fight. Zemo enjoyed this. He liked it when you were a feisty. Bucky leaned down and laughed low "You knew what you were getting into," he said and offered you a helping hand that you gladly took. You straighten up. "I wasn't teasing him, it's the truth" you said and tilted your head. Lamar looked at you annoyed, but John was already calm... or he was walking back and forth again, but guess that's his version of being calm.

You walked over to Zemo. This was the time you wanted to enjoy. Him cuffed up, with three American's in a room. You didn't even say anything when you leaned against the wall, looking at him with a smirk on your lips. He knew exactly what you were doing and normally he would've clapped back on the second, but if this was the closest to a smile he could get from you, he wanted to enjoy it. "How do you feel?" you asked him. He smirked, oh how much you would regret asking that question.

"Excited to take these cuffs off and try them on you later" he said low, but not low enough, cause all the boys heard it and he knew that.

Your eyes popped out. You couldn't believe your eyes or ears. One thing was what he said, that honestly, if the two of you were alone... would definitely work on you, but the fact that he said it in front of two strangers and the public, on a mission was not good. Not good at all. John looked over at you, his eyes all judgemental, thinking he got it all figured out before he looked back at Bucky.

"So not only a mass murder, but you took with you a psychopath as well on this mission?"
