The two of you went at it for hours, talking, drinking, eating in between the sessions. You breathed heavily as the two of you laid down on the mattress again. Zemo was looking at you with a tired smile as he kissed you goodnight. You laid in his arms, looking up at him. You knew you should've gone to sleep, but you couldn't. You were tired, but your head kept spinning. You made small circles on Zemo's chest.

This can't be our end. No matter how messed up our past has been and how many things we would need to work on for our future to work, you were not ready for him to leave. They were gonna send him to the Raft and even if you knew he wouldn't get the same treatment as you, you didn't like the idea of him there. Still, you knew you couldn't go on the run with him or just break him out of prison. Of course, physically you could, but you were no longer just anonym y/n, the world was watching you and for the first time in your life, you didn't wanna hide anymore.

You wanted to keep doing what you were doing, and actually be open and tell others about it. You grew up thinking you had to either be human or mutant and those two couldn't like each other. If you grew up knowing that a mutant could and was a part of the Avengers, friends with the X-men, and simply lived a normal life with both sides, you knew that you would be relieved to see a person like that. All the pain you had been through had to be for something.

That's when it clicked for you. You carefully gave him a kiss on the forehead and lured yourself out of his tight grip. You took on some new underwear and some trousers as you grabbed your phone. It was in the middle of the night and you were fully aware that this most surely wouldn't work, but you had to try right?

"Hello Matt, Charles gave me this number. Sorry for texting you this late, but would you be able to meet up? Y/n." you sent the message to Matt Murdock.

You looked over at Zemo, tapping your feet nervously waiting for Matt to get back to you. He was a busy lawyer, why would he be awake at 3 am in the morning? It made zero chance, but you couldn't stop thinking and you knew Matt would be able to give you answers. You felt guilty for leaving Zemo's arms as it may be your last night together, but you had to shoot your shot. Suddenly your phone started to ring, it was Matt. You immediately turned it on silent, grabbed a sweater, jacket, beanie and shoes as you carefully closed and locked the door to the apartment. You took in earphones as you walked down the stairs.

"Hi, hi Matt, I'm so sorry that it took a sec for me to take the phone, and calling you in the middle of the night. I understand you're busy and I'm so so sorry.." you said stressed before Matt cut you off.

"Hey, don't even think about it. I was awake working on a case anyway. What can I do for you?" he asked. His voice sounded sorer now than what you could remember like he was hurt or something, but you didn't wanna judge as you were pretty much drugged in the whole meeting with him.

"Is it any chance we could meet up now? I prefer not talking about this over the phone," you said and took your beanie over your ears. Spring was soon coming, but this was New York in the middle of the night and it was chilly.

"Uhm okay, it's not the best time could this wait until the morning?" He asked. You looked down at your shoes and shook your head, now you just had to be upfront.

"No, it can't. Where are you? I can meet you literally anywhere you want," You said and walked into a little kiosk. Matt was probably hating you right now, and what you were gonna ask him about later would only fill up his frustration with you. He shrugged and you could hear him take a deep breath.

"Fine, I live in Hell's Kitchen, I'll text you the address," he said, finally given in. He went off the call as you turned on music in your ears.

You took up a six-pack of cheap beer. It was a nice 'i'm sorry for disturbing you' - gift? That was at least what he got. You went to the cashier and laid it on the desk. You looked to the side where the newspapers caught your attention. You turned around to it and held your head a little bit extra down.

"Shocking news, the undiscovered daughter of Magneto - Y/n Lehnsherr fighting Captain America in Latvia"

"Secret Omega level mutant on the run - This is why we need the Sokovia Accords!"

"Y/n Lehnsherr the next generation's mutant leader"

"Captain America killing a member of the terrorist organization The Flag Smashers and fight against Omega level mutant"

"Y/n Lehnsherr victims speak out: She is a monster!"

"Red, Tight, Sexy, Stark Combat Suit - Y/n Lehnsherr a new fashion icon!"

"The true story of who Y/n Lehnsherr is"

"That's you? Isn't it?" the boy behind the desk asks as he snaps you out of your thought bubble. You looked up at him, taken back by all the things you just have read. You knew how the media worked, but it was the first time you saw your own name smashed on them. You gave the guy a short nod, unsure if it was a good or a bad thing. He started to smile and picked up his phone. "Can you wait here, I gotta tell my little sister! She loves you" he said and immediately walked away, up some stairs, not even giving you room to answer.

You couldn't help but laugh low at the whole situation. You looked back at the news titles. This was ridiculous. Nobody had a clue about who you were. You had never said a word out loud in public, but people were having thousands of thousands of opinions about you. Some loved you, some hated you, but the only thing you knew it was all based on nothing. Of course, pictures and videos from Latvia were telling something, but the rest was nonsense. Some thought that since you weren't showing your face publically you were on the run? The truth is you were put in prison as some other media shared about. Some thought you were the next mutant voice or some kind of leader for them? Oh, how disappointed Charles must be to hear that you were taking his place.

"She is a little bit eager, but.." the guy said as you turned around. The little girl was about 6 years old, and you could see that she had just woken up, but she was giggling from ear to ear. Sam was more used to this kinda thing, but you tried to tell yourself that this was just a little girl and you had no reason to get nervous for her. You leaned down so you stood on her level.

"Hii, what is your name?" you asked with a little smile on your lips. She was in her cute little Star Wars pajamas, her hair was everywhere, but it didn't matter cause her smile was bigger and brighter than anything else. You didn't want kids for yourself personally, but you didn't mind being around them. In small amounts, they were cute and adorable, but you knew way too good that you would never be able to take care of one, neither did you want that responsibility. She suddenly grabbed your thumb and started to wave with it.

"My name is Jasmine! You are so strong and pretty," she said giggling. You could feel your cheeks blush as the kid went straight into a hug. You laughed low as you wrapped your hands carefully around her body. You had no clue how to answer her remarks, but luckily for you, she wanted to speak more.

"It was so cool to see a girl like me on screen, and I have a friend that is just like you in class or her parents are mutants so I think she will be one. Can I take a picture and show them?" She asked and yawned. You laughed low and gave her a nod, her brother had already the phone up as you turned around so you were facing the camera. You looked at the kid who was smiling from ear to ear, so you did the same exact thing. She got incredibly excited and immediately ran over to look at the pictures. You knew you were short on time so you put a few extra dollars on the desk and looked back at them.

"I have to go, but it was very nice to meet you Jasmine, and goodnight," you said with a little smile before you grabbed the beer and walked out.
