Maya sighed as she got to her seat in the stadium.
"I don't like baseball! It makes no sense."
Lucas took the seat next to her and glanced at her. "You agreed to come."
"No! You begged me to come because your brother couldn't." Maya said.
Lucas leaned back in his seat and said, "fine."
Maya took a sip out of her soda and placed it in the cup holder.
She leaned her arm against the arm rest and felt Lucas's arm.
She moved it away quickly and felt a little embarrassed.
"Sorry..." She mumbled.
Maya and Lucas weren't dating or anything, but sometimes their friends like to believe they like each other.
The game started and Maya watched as tons of guys just ran around the field.
She looked up at the big screen and turned to Lucas.
They haven't spoken to each other since that awkward moment earlier.
"What is a inning?" She asked.
Lucas looked at her and just laughed.
Maya raised her eyebrow at him and he stopped laughing. "Oh you weren't joking."
Maya shook her head. "Nope. I'm not a baseball freak like you."
Lucas hid a smile. "Is that supposed to a compliment?"
Maya thought about that. "maybe..."
Suddenly, all the players got off the field and an intercom went off.
Maya and Lucas turned their attention to the big screen and it had the words "kiss cam" labeled across the screen.
Maya looked at Lucas and he looked at her.
"I wonder what would happen if they picked us." Maya said, laughing nervously.
"Um Maya?" Lucas said, not looking at her.
"What?"
Maya looked where he was and saw her and Lucas on the big screen, with a heart around them.
Maya's face turned red and she looked at Lucas.
"Do we have to?" She said.
Lucas shook his head. "No. You don't have to."
Before she could say anything, Lucas leaned in and kissed her on the lips.
Maya was caught off guard but slowly started to relax.
The crowd cheered around them and Maya kissed Lucas back.
They released the kiss and just looked at each other.
They looked back at the big screen to see they didn't win, since it was a competition.
"Oh... We didn't win." Maya said, laughing awkwardly.
"Yeah, but I think I won anyway." Lucas said jokingly.
Maya gave him a sideways look. "That was cheesy."
"I know."
The game started again and Maya turned her attention back to Lucas.
"You know what? Thanks for taking me to this game... I'm having a good time."
Lucas's face lit up with a warm smile and said, "you're welcome."
