"Awww look!" I said, pointing at a small object.
"What is it?" Lucas said, identifying where I was pointing.
We were walking home from school together since Riley and Farkle were busy.
"It's a puppy!" I knelt down as the puppy jumped into my lap.
"Aw he's cute." Lucas said, leaning down next to me.
I pet his ears and looked at his neck. "He doesn't have a collar or anything."
"Looks like he is ours now." Lucas said, smirking. He started to pet the dog too.
Our hands landed on top of each other's as we pet the dog.
We looked up and blushed, looking down at the dog again.
-at Riley's house-
I opened Riley's house with my dog in my hands.
Riley immediately stood up as she saw the dog. "Maya my birthday was six months ago!!"
She started to grab the dog but I pulled it away.
"It's mine. And Lucas's actually." I said, looking back at Lucas.
Riley raised her eyebrows. "So you guys are parents of the dog?"
I widened my eyes. "No!! I mean-no."
Lucas suddenly tapped my shoulder. "What should we name her or him?"
I started to think. "What about Laya?!?!"
I saw Riley burst out laughing but she didn't say anything. I wonder why...
"That's cute!" Lucas said.
I suddenly got an idea and hit Lucas's chest lightly. "Let's go get doggie stuff!"
We both ran out of Riley's apartment with our dog in my hand.
"Lovebirds." Riley muttered.
