I watched as guys were holding homecoming signs in the middle of the hallways.Homecoming wasn't for two weeks, what's happening?
I got to my locker to see my best friend Farkle panicking. "Help me."
"What's up dude?" I said, opening my locker.
"I need to ask Riley to homecoming."
I grabbed something out of my locker. "Okay? Then ask her."
"It's not that simple man! Have you seen all these guys asking girls to homecoming?"
I turned around. "Yes I have."
We started walking down the hallway before first period started.
"I just need a big plan to ask her." Farkle said, thinking aloud.
I looked to the left and saw Riley there. "There she is. Go up and ask her."
"I just said--"
I stopped him from talking. "Okay hold on. I'll show you how it's really done."
I walked up to the lockers and tapped a girl's shoulders.
"Hey Maya."
She turned around. "Hi Lucas."
We've been friends for awhile, and we've always had this unofficial relationship going on..
I even remember trying to ask her out in 8th grade.
I've never really made it a big deal though.
"Want to go to homecoming with me?" I said out of nowhere.
She raised an eyebrow. "You're asking me to homecoming?"
I shrugged. "Yeah. So?"
She closed her locker, smiling. "Sure why not."
She walked away, with Riley by her side.
I went back over to Farkle. "See."
"Did you do that to prove a point or so you could go with Maya hart?"
I thought about that. "Sorry, but mostly the Maya one. She's hot."
I continued speaking. "If a girl really likes you, I'm sure she doesn't care how she's asked."
The bell rang and Farkle walked away.
I turned around to see Maya standing there. "You got it all figured out huh?"
I smirked. "No. Not really. But I had to ask you to homecoming somehow right?"
Maya smiled a little. "Well true. And you're right, I don't care how I'm asked as long as you are the one asking me."
