"I don't know about that" Maya said.
"Come on. We've been going out for almost 6 months and you haven't met them yet."
Maya and Lucas were walking down the school hallway, interlocking their fingers together.
"What if they don't like me?" Maya asked him.
"They will love you because.." Lucas lifted Maya's chin up so she was looking at him. "You are amazing, beautiful---"
"There they go again." Farkle one of their good friends said.
"I think it's adorable!!" Riley gushed.
Lucas kept his attention on Maya. "Please meet my parents."
Maya sighed. "Okay for you."
"Yay!" Lucas said in a girly tone.
The bell rang and they all went to history class.
-later that night-
Maya was standing in her closest, deciding what to wear. She wanted to make a good impression on Lucas's parents.
Maya was about to put a black dress, which was totally unlike her, when she got a text.
Lucas: be who you are. My parents will love you for who you are.
Maya smiled, imagining him saying that.
Maya took off the dress and put on a simple but nice t shirt and denim shorts. She ran her hand through her curls and grabbed her phone.
Maya opened up the front door and saw Lucas standing there. "Are you ready?"
Maya smiled at him. "Yeah."
Lucas held out his hand and Maya gladly took it.
-at Lucas's house-
Mrs Frair answered the door. "Hello, you must be Maya."
Maya nodded and shook her hand.
"Lucas has told us so much about us." Mrs Frair said
"Mom!!" Lucas said in embarrassment.
"Sorry." Mrs Frair said, letting out a small laugh.
After a few minutes, they all sat down and enjoyed dinner.
-an hour later-
"Well thank you so much for dinner" Maya said politely.
"No thank you dear for coming!" Mrs Frair said.
"Mom, I'm gonna walk Maya home." Lucas said.
"Okay. Get her home safe."
"Will do."
They walked out the front door and headed out the apartment.
"I like your parents." Maya said.
"Me too. Now I can meet your parents?" Lucas joked.
"Not gonna happen cowboy."
