Maya's POV:
I couldn't believe it.My ex husband was standing in front of me, after four years of not seeing each other.
He didn't look like he aged a bit.
I looked down to see a little boy hanging by his legs.
Carson... My son.. Why didn't I realize that sooner?
I turned around and looked at the teacher. "We will be going now. Thanks."
I motioned to Callie and she followed me, with Carson and Lucas not too far behind.
What was I gonna say to Callie about all this?
We made it to my car and I said to Callie, "get in the car please."
"But I want Carson to come over!" She exclaimed.
I sighed. "He will, just get in the car."
I looked over at Lucas who caught the hint slowly.
"Carson why don't you join her?" He said to him.
He nodded and they both went into my car.
I turned to Lucas and didn't know what to say.
This was awkward.
Running into your ex husband at your child's school isn't a story I wanna remember.
"So I'm gonna let Carson come over." I started.
Lucas just nodded. "Shouldn't we tell them?"
"We will. Soon enough."
I started to walk into the front seat when Lucas stopped me, "Wait!"
I turned around. "What?"
He opened his mouth to say something but no words came out.
He finally said, "you still live same place?"
I nodded and climbed into the car.
"You guys ready?" I said.
"Yeah!" They both exclaimed.
Since they were both young, they had no clue what was going on between Lucas and I.
They just wanted their icecream cones.
I watched as Lucas stood there, watching as we drove off.
I took a deep breath and headed towards the nearest mall.
There was a icecream stand by the food court I could take them to.
~~~~~~~
We were now back at my house and I was waiting for Lucas to pick up Carson.The poor boy still didn't know I was his actual mother this entire afternoon.
I sighed and started typing away on my laptop.
Might as well get some work done.
-with Carson and Callie-
They were sitting side by side, playing with some of Callie's toys."Your mommy is nice." Carson said.
"I know." Callie said.
They continued to play in silence until Carson stood up. "Earlier with my daddy and your mommy was weird."
Callie stopped playing. "What do you mean?"
Carson shrugged his shoulders. "They seemed upset with each other."
