Maya Hart and Lucas Friar are the best of friends, knowing each other for about two years now.
They knew almost everything about each other and got along great.
The one thing is.... They have never ever met in person.
Maya got an Instagram account to make a fan account a couple years back.
She met tons of friends with the same interests as hers, which was awesome.
One day, she met Lucas friar.
They talked all day and night, getting to the part where they exchanged phone numbers and facetime each other.
They have been trying to meet each other in real life but it's been hard since they live thousands of miles away.
But, one day they plan to meet... And break the distance.
----------
Maya sat at her computer, opening up her FaceTime on the computer. She clicked Lucas's number and his face pulled up seconds later.
"Hey." Maya said, smiling.
"Hey."
Even though he was miles away, Maya always knew Lucas could cheer her up.
"How was your day?" Lucas asked her.
Maya shrugged. "School sucks, as always. Friends ditched me at school."
Lucas sighed, "I wish I was there."
"Me too."
Lucas shifted in his seat. "I can move to New York someday."
Maya smiled. Lucas lived in Texas and Maya lived in New York, and without social media they wouldn't have met.
Lucas spoke up, "Maya I have to go, Ricky has a baseball game." Ricky was his younger brother.
Maya fake pouted. "Alright. See you later."
Lucas waved and shut his computer, her face disappearing.
-------------
Lucas went down the stairs, dragging his bag behind him."You promise you'll be careful." His mom said.
Lucas nodded. "Mom I'll be safe, don't worry."
Lucas's mom handed him his flight ticket and kissed his head.
"Have fun."
Lucas nodded and walked out the front door, heading to the airport.
------
"Flight to New York is now boarding." The intercom in the airport said.Lucas stood up with his luggage and went up to the gate.
Maya thinks that Lucas is at a baseball game right now...
She doesn't know what she's in for.
Lucas stepped on to the plane, finding his seat.
~a few hours later~
Maya sat in her bedroom with her legs crossed on her bed.Suddenly, her mom barged in, not knocking.
Maya groaned, finding her "please knock" sign no use.
"Yes mom?" Maya said.
"We have to go to the airport." Maya's mom said.
Maya blinked. "Why?"
Maya's mom hesitantied. "Your aunt is coming to visit."
Maya sighed, getting up from her bed. "Do I have to go?"
Maya's mom nodded. "Yep. Get some shoes on and meet me downstairs."
She left the room and Maya sighed, finding her pair of boots.
---------
Maya and her mom walked through the airport, trying to find the gate."What gate number?" Maya asked her mom.
"Gate 7." She replied.
They passed several gates until they saw gate 7.
Maya read the sign and blinked, "wait from Texas.."
Maya's mom didn't say anything, simply nodding.
"But aunt Kelly doesn't live in Texas .."
They watched as people started to get off the gate and Maya remained confused.
She saw several families and other people get off the plane.
Suddenly, she caught sight of someone...
She gasped loudly and started fully sprinting towards that person.
He saw her coming and dropped his luggage to the ground.
Maya reached him and he picked her up, hugging her tightly.
Maya held on, in complete shock. "I can't believe it's you.. Really you."
They were in the middle of the airport and in some people's ways, so they moved.
They hugged for a few minutes until Lucas said, "I told you our distance will be broken someday."
