"Three days until summer!" My best friend, Riley said as we sat in our seats.

"Thank goodness." I said.

The bell rang and everyone took their seats.

Mr Matthews came to the room and Riley started speaking, "school is almost over. We don't have anymore work to do, right?"

Mr Matthews just laughed. "You guys still have final exams."

The whole class groaned and I leaned back in my seat.

I haven't studied even a little bit. Oops.

Mr Matthews put his stuff down and said, "before I forget, don't forget to pick up your yearbooks at lunch."

We all nodded and started reviewing through our social studies books.

I turned in my seat and said, "hey ranger rick, do you have an extra pencil I can borrow?"

The guy behind me raised his eyebrows at me. "Yes. But I don't think I should give it to you."

I gave him a fake smile. "Fine then."

I turned back around to see Riley watching us.

"Don't you guys realize you guys fight everyday in front of the class?" She asked us.

I gave Lucas a side look. "Yeah...so?"

Riley just shook her head. "Nevermind."

The bell then rang and I stood up.

It was now lunch time and we had to get our yearbooks.

"I don't want one." I said as Riley dragged me down the hallway.

"Oh come on! The lines aren't that long yet." Riley said, as we stood in a line.

"My picture is so ugly." I said.

One of the yearbook editors handed us our books and we went over to a table.

Lucas and Farkle came towards us and Lucas took my yearbook, "can I sign your yearbook?"

I made a face. "Why would you want to?"

"I want to sign it as ranger rick or cowboy." He said, jokingly.

I took my yearbook from him. "That would be cute. But no."

Riley was flipping through the pages of her yearbook next to me.

"Wow guys look at this." She said.

We all looked over her shoulder to look at the page.

"Apparently there was awards for each grade." She said.

I looked away. "Yeah, I'm guessing all the populars got nominated."

"Not exactly.." Riley said.

"Maya and Lucas won best couple?" Farkle said aloud.

I snapped to reality and looked at the yearbook. "What?!"

I looked at where they were pointing and sure enough that's exactly what it said.

I looked at lucas to see he had disappeared.

I ignored that and stood up. "This must be a mistake."

I walked over to the yearbook editors, with Riley and Farkle following.

I approached them and started talking in a sweet tone, "excuse me but there's a mistake with your yearbook."

The girl turned around and glanced at me. "What?"

"Lucas and I aren't a couple, why were we voted best couple?" I said, cringing slightly.

The girl then let out a laugh. "Oh, well this is awkward."

I waited for her to continue.

"Everyone thought you were dating just because of the way you act around each other. It's cute."

I tried not to gag as the girl walked away from me.

Riley came up behind me. "It's not that bad Maya."

"I know. I just don't feel that way...about him." I said, awkwardly.

It was silent as I looked at the time on my phone.

"I have to go guys. See you later." I said, walking away.

I went into another empty hallway and looked around.

Then, I saw someone alone by their locker.

I went up to them and crossed my arms. "Hey."

He shut his locker. "Oh hey."

I took a deep breath. This was really hard for me to say...

"So apparently people think we like each other. Weird right?" I said, trying to let out a realistic laugh.

Lucas smiled slightly. "Yeah. Very weird."

"Yep yep."

I looked at his facial expression to see if he was being serious or not...

I slowly took my yearbook out of my bag and handed it to him. "I decided I'll let you sign it."

Lucas took it and grabbed a pen. "Oh, what to say about you."

The bell rang as he finished writing.

I felt like he was writing something in there forever.

He closed it and gave it to me, "here. Do me a favor and read it after school."

He walked away and I held the yearbook in my hands.

Now that he said that, I really wanted to read it now...

I put my yearbook in my bag and started heading to class.

Once school was over, I walked to my apartment and set my stuff down.

I grabbed my yearbook and sat at the table.

Oddly enough, I've been interested all day to see what Lucas wrote.

I opened it to the last page and immediately saw words.

It wasn't as long as I thought it was.

As I read through it, certain words caught my attention.

"Maybe we should hang out this summer"

Wrote this in honor of me finishing school for the year ☺️

I was thinking of writing a oneshot on their 8th grade graduation also....what do you guys think?

The reason this oneshot is called shippers is because people obviously shipped them since they voted on this.

Yeah.

Vote and comment 💕

I feel like tons of laya shippers are inactive or something...I haven't been gotten as much votes

That's okay though 😜
