A/N What i think SHOULD'VE happened in Girl Meets Home For The Holidays...
Lucas's POV:
I had just gotten back to new york from my weekend trip in Texas to visit my old friends there.
I was going to stay in Texas over Christmas, but i decided i wanted to spend it with my family and friends back in New York.
I told my mom and dad i was going to Riley's apartment and i took the subway there.
I reached the apartment building and went up a few floors to Riley's apartment.
I pressed a button and buzzed in. "Lucas." I said.
There was noises coming from inside and i suddenly heard Riley's voice. "Lucas! Come on up."
I went up and entered Riley's front door to see her family, Maya, and a few other family members.
"Hey Riley." I said.
"I thought you were staying in texas?" She said, confused.
"Happy holidays to you too." I said, chuckling.
I suddenly caught sight of Maya and some boy, who were laughing about something.
Who the heck is he? He looks too old to go to our school...
I wasn't jealous... i wasn't... i just got this burning feeling inside my chest when i see Maya with another boy. Yeah that.
That's jealousy, Lucas. My mind said inside of me.
Ugh. Shut up!
I walked over to them and looked directly at Maya. "Hey Maya."
She barely looked up at me. "Oh hey cowboy."
She continued laughing at something the boy across from her had said, and i clenched my fists together.
-a little while later-
"Um Lucas?" Riley said.
"Yeah?" I said, not looking at her.
"Why do you keep staring at Maya and my uncle?"
I looked at her. "He's your uncle??"
I couldnt seem to progress that information in my mind.
"Yeah, he's only a few years older than us though." RIley said.
Oh.
"What's his name?" I asked.
"Joshua."
It went silence for a few minutes until Riley spoke again. "Why do you want to know everything about Joshua?"
I shrugged, i didnt have a fake response to that one.
-later-
Everybody was about to leave Riley's house since it was getting pretty late.
I was walking down the hallway since i had just used the bathroom and caught sight of Maya and Joshua in a bedroom alone.
The door was cracked so i could hear everything they were saying.
I'm not the kind of person to eavesdrop, but...
I stayed by the door, slightly pressing my ear against the wall.
"So i can come back to new york in a few weeks..." I heard Joshua say.
"Awesome." Maya said.
I looked to see Joshua scratching the back of his neck. "Maybe we can do something next time together when i'm here again."
"I would like that."
I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces, just hearing that.
It has come to my realization that i... liked maya hart.
I heard Joshua coming out the door so i hid in a corner and watched him leave.
Once he disappeared, i went back to my spot near the wall and saw maya grinning widely.
"But i like you..." I whispered.
Apparently, i said that too loudly.
"You do?"
Maya heard me.
