A/N I republished this oneshot to make it a little longer so enjoy
Maya and Lucas walked the school hallways, hand in hand.
"So wanna like go out tonight?" Lucas asked as they reached Maya's locker.
Maya searched through her locker. "Sure. Riley is hanging out with Farkle anyways."
"Well you know what they say, boyfriends before best friends."
Maya looked at him. "It's actually the other way around cowboy."
Lucas pouted. "But I need to spend more time with you I miss you."
Maya rolled her eyes at her clingy boyfriend.
"Okay fine where's our date tonight?"
"It's a surprise." Lucas said simply.
"Lucas! You know I hate surprises." I groaned.
Lucas kissed her cheek and said, "don't worry you'll love it. I gotta go to baseball practice but I'll pick you up at 7"
"Okay." Maya agreed.
Lucas left and Maya headed to her house to get ready for the date, even though it wasn't for a few hours.
-----
Maya's POV:I dressed casually into a pair of leggings and a dress.
Lucas was taking me on a "surprise date" is what he called it tonight.
He wouldn't tell me where it even was.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up.
Lucas: I'm waiting outside for you ❤️
I smiled, turning my phone off and putting it in my dress pocket.
I went out front and climbed into Lucas's car.
"Hey." Lucas said, smiling at me.
"Hey. Can you tell me where we are going now?" I said right away.
Lucas shook his head. "Nope."
I hit him in the shoulder. "Ugh. You suck."
Lucas smiled with pleasure. "We will be there soon."
---------
We drove another 10 minutes until we reached our spot.Lucas got out of the car and opened my car door for me.
I stepped out and looked at my surroundings.
We were at a beach, one of the only beaches in New York.
(A/N idk if there are beaches in New York or not)
I saw Lucas take out a blanket and a picnic basket.
I smiled. "Aww Lucas."
We laid the blanket out on the sand and sat down on it.
We ate our sandwiches and then I laid down on the blanket.
Lucas laid down next to me and put his arm around me.
I looked up at the sky to see several stars out.
"Wow." I breathed, looking at the wonderful sight
"I've never seen anything more beautiful." I said aloud.
Lucas looked at me. "I have, and she's laying right next to me."
