Lucas's POV:
I stood at the icecream counter, waiting for someone to take our order.
I felt a little tug at my shorts and looked down to see.
"Lucas, am I getting icecream?" He asked.
I chuckled. "Of course Aaron. Just be patient."
I watched as he smiled widely, like every other kid would do if they were getting icecream.
"After this, we should probably get you back home to mommy. She's been texting me all day." I said.
"Why?" He asked.
I shrugged. "She cares about you, she probably misses you."
I looked up to see someone behind the counter
The person wasn't facing me but she started talking, "hi, give me one second."
I watched as she was putting money into an envelope and I turned to Aaron.
"What kind of icecream do you want?"
"Chocolate." He replied.
The girl had turned around once I looked up and the first thing I noticed was her long blonde curls.
"So you want chocolate?" She said, overhearing us.
"Um yeah, a small cone please." I said.
I couldn't help but think. Have I seen this girl from somewhere before?
Shortly after, she had walked out from behind the counter and handed Aaron his cone.
"Here ya go. Don't worry, the money is on me." She said as I reached into my pocket.
I was surprised. "You sure?"
She nodded. "Of course. It's been a slow day and my boss isn't around."
She started laughing at herself and I smiled. "Well thanks."
As she disappeared, I took a glance at her outfit.
She was wearing a work uniform, obviously and I saw her name tag.
"Lucas! Let's go to the park!" Aaron said, tugging on me again.
I snapped out of what I saw and said, "don't you want to eat first?"
"I can eat it on the way there."
He grabbed my hand and I turned around before leaving to see the girl helping someone else out.
I took a deep breath and then walked away with Aaron.

"You won't believe who I ran into today."
I watched as my best friend took a bite out of icecream. "Who?"
I tapped my fingers on the table, debating if I should tell her or not.
"Lucas."
Riley almost started choking on her food and I said, "woah Riley calm down."
"are you sure it was him?" She said, putting her bowl down.
I shrugged. "I mean, I think. He looks the same but..he had a kid with him."
Riley sighed. "Aww maya I'm sorry."
"We don't know if it's his son or not." I said, trying to be positive.
"Who else would it be?"
I shrugged again. "I don't know."
"Well you can't forget he was the one that cheated on you senior year."
"He did not cheat. Things just..weren't working out." I said.
"I gave the kid with him free icecream. The sad thing is I don't he even knew who I was." I continued.
"Did he not read your name tag? Stupid." Riley scoffed.
I rolled my eyes. Since Lucas and I broke up, Riley thinks he cheated on me since he started seeing someone else.
But that wasn't the case.
"I think it's good he moved on. He's probably a great father."
"I bet he married that girl Amy, the one that got pregnant in high school. Wasn't Lucas helping her out?"
I totally forgot about that.
She didn't say anything else after that as I looked at my phone.
"Well..my break is over. Thanks for stopping by Riley."
We stood up and hugged for a second and then she said, "if..he stops by again let me know."
I watched her walk away and I looked back at the counter.
Why would he stop by again? He probably wants nothing to do with me.
I walked back to the counter as a huge line of people started coming up.
Greatttt.

Back to Lucas;
I pulled up to a house and saw Amy already standing outside.
"Hey mom, Lucas got me icecream!" Aaron said, jumping out.
"Oh really? Right before dinner?" Amy said, looking at me.
"My bad. You know I'm not a good babysitter." I said.
She laughed. "It's fine. Thanks for watching him."
"I have to get going, but I'll see you guys around." I said.
As I walked back to the car, I turned around. "Bye Aaron."
He waved back. "Bye Lucas!"
As I pulled out of the driveway, I was already debating what I was about to do.
But I was dying to go back and see if that was actually who I thought it was. If it actually her.
I mean, it said her name on her name tag but I don't know for sure.
I turned left onto a street, heading towards that icecream counter.

Omg. Finally a update after what...two months?
So sorry about that! I don't know what really happened but I'm back now.
I hope you enjoyed this one shot and yes, there will be a part two.
