It's a little past midnight now and Meredith can't sleep. She is unable to sleep due to lack of food in her. Her stomach is growling and she feels hungry but she doesn't want to give in and show them that she's weak.

Meredith gets out of bed and all of a sudden gets super dizzy. She grabs ahold of her iv stand to try to steady herself. After a few minutes she is steadier on her feet. She goes over to the bathroom but finds out that the door is locked this time.

She decides she's going to walk the halls in an effort to burn more calories. There's not as many people around this time of night so she figures she can get away with it. She will just stay away from the nurses desk.

She pulls her iv stand with her and leaves her room. Every few steps she has to pause and get her breathing under control. She is not used to this much exercise and her body doesn't like it. Even though she's just walking her body is way too weak for this activity.

She manages to walk the halls for about 30 minutes before she is caught by a nurse.

"Meredith Grey! You are not supposed to be out of bed! Let's get you back to bed." The nurse says and grabs ahold of her arm to guide her over to a wheelchair that is just a little bit down the hallway.

"No I don't wanna go back. I need exercise."

"Meredith, this isn't up for debate. You are on bed rest. You may have gained a little bit of weight but you are still extremely underweight." The nurse doesn't realize what the effect her words have on Meredith.

"No no no no no. My weight needs to go DOWN not up! I can't do this! No no no." Meredith collapses to the floor sobbing and lays on the floor in a ball refusing to move. Tears are streaming down her face. She knows that she tricked the scale but she still hates hearing that it's "higher".

The nurse tries to calm Meredith down but isn't having any luck. "I need some help over here!" The nurse yells to her coworkers. One runs over and tries to help but Meredith bats her hand away when she tries to touch her to get her off the ground.

"Who can we page? She's not doing well, we need someone she trusts." Meredith's sobs are getting louder and they know they need to do something before she wakes up the whole floor.

"Dr. Bailey is on call. I'll page her. I think she is in an on call room." She pages Bailey and Bailey comes running over 6 minutes later.

"How long has she been like this?" Bailey asks the two nurses. She is trying to comfort Meredith but even she is having no luck.

"Mer, sweetie. It's ok. Let's get you back in bed."

"No!" She wails. "I'm too fat. Leave me alone."
Meredith is still in a ball and won't let anyone get close to her. She bats any hands away that attempt to come near her. All of a sudden she just rips out the iv attached to her.

"We need to sedate her. It's for her own safety. She's too unstable at the moment." Bailey tells the nurse to go get the needle to sedate Meredith with and the nurse runs off. She comes back a minute later with it and injects it into Meredith. Instantly Meredith quiets down and falls asleep.

Bailey picks up her sleeping intern off of the floor and puts her into the wheelchair. She pushes her back to her room and gets her settled back in her bed. She reattaches the iv to Meredith's arm.

Bailey starts talking to Meredith's sleeping body. "Oh Meredith, I need you to get better. I hate seeing you like this. We all love you and want you to get better."

Bailey leaves Meredith a few minutes later after making sure all her sats are stable.
