Sick and Tired

Chapter 75

TW ED, SH

Bailey sees Meredith slowly walking out of the bathroom but she can tell something is off about the girl.

She watches Meredith walking slowly back towards her bed and sees her reaching out for things to hold onto. All of a sudden Meredith collapses to the floor.

"MEREDITH!" Bailey rushes over to her intern on the floor. "Meredith wake up." She gently rubs Meredith to wake her up but no success. "Mer, come on time to wake up now."

After two minutes of being unconscious Mereidth wakes up.

"Wh- what happened?" Meredith asks groggily.

"You passed out sweetie." Bailey tells her. "We're going to go to the hospital to get you examined. You need IV fluids."

"N-no hos-hospital" Meredith says weakly.

"Meredith you just passed out. We need to go to the hospital." Bailey tells her intern on the floor.

Meredith has tears coming down her face now. "Please no hospital. They'll make me fat. I don't want to get fat Bailey."

"They won't make you fat. We need to get you stable so you don't pass out again sweetie. We need to get some fluids and nutrients into you."

"No I don't need those. I'm fine! I'll be fine!" Meredith argued.

"You need them Mereidth but maybe if you promise to eat your full meal I won't take you in and I'll call Derek to bring an iv fluids home. Think we can get you into bed Mer? Do you think you can walk?"

Meredith nods. Bailey helps her off of the floor and walks with her slowly back to her bed. Meredith gets dizzy and stumbles but Bailey catches her and doesn't let her fall. Meredith whimpers when she almost fell.

"It's okay sweetie. I got you. I won't let you fall. Let's get you into bed." Bailey helps Meredith into her bed and pulls the covers over her and gently tucks her into bed. "I'm going to go call Derek you get some rest."

Meredith nods weakly.

Bailey isn't worried about leaving Meredith alone because she figures Meredith doesn't have the energy or stamina to get out of bed at the moment. Plus the girl is scared she'll pass out again.

Bailey dials Derek's number and after a few rings he picks up.

"Hey Bailey. Everything going okay there?" Derek asks.

"Hey I don't want you to freak out but I need you to bring home an IV kit with fluids please."
Bailey says.

"Okay. Why? Is Meredith okay?"

"She's in bed right now. She passed out. She refuses to go to the hospital so I compromised with her and am going to make her eat a full lunch plus I'm going to have you bring the iv kit home." Bailey tells him.

"Oh no! What happened? Why did she pass out? I'll get it and come now."

"Derek, we both know why she passed out. The girl hasn't been eating. I want to get a look at what her weight is soon. She must be officially underweight or lower for her height now since she was close to it the last time she was weighed."
