Derek slowly starts to wake up from a good night's sleep and looks at the clock on the nightstand table. He sees that it's 8:30 in the morning. He looks over and smiles at a sound asleep Meredith. He sees that she looks so peaceful sleeping and wishes she could be this way when she's awake also.

Thirty minutes later his phone rings and he sees that it's Richard calling him.

"Hey Richard, what's up?" He says softly, so to not wake Meredith up.

"Hey Shep. I know you aren't working right now but I desperately need your help. I have an emergency neuro case and need you to operate." Richard said.

"What about Nelson? Can't he do it? I really don't want to leave Meredith alone Richard."

"I know you don't and I wouldn't ask if I didn't have to. Nelson is sick and can't come in. Maybe you can ask Bailey or someone to come watch Meredith? I know Bailey is off today." Richard says.

Derek sighs. "Okay let me give Bailey a call." They end the phone call.

Derek calls Bailey.

"Why are you calling me this early on my day off?" Bailey grumbles.

"Sorry Bailey. Richard needs me for a case but I can't leave Meredith alone. Would you be willing to come watch her?"

"She not doing well?"

Derek sighs. "Not at all. I'm assuming you heard about her visit to see Callie?"

"I heard. I'm sorry Derek. And she's not eating too? Callie told me her weight dropped a lot."

"Yeah, she's lost a lot of weight and still refuses to eat. I keep having to tell her to stay still and not move around. She barely eats. She eats like one thing a day and that's it. She's relapsed Bailey and I don't know what to do." Derek says sadly. He glances over at Meredith, still asleep in her bed.

"I'll come over and help with her. I'll try to get her to eat something." Bailey said. "I'll be there in 20 minutes."

"Thank you so much Bailey!" They end the call and Derek calls Richard back and tells him he will come in once Bailey gets there.

Twenty minutes later Bailey arrives and Derek lets her upstairs. They go upstairs and Derek tells her that she needs to stay with her at all times.

"And be careful she's not in the bathroom for too long. If she's in there for longer periods of time she's usually exercising and probably hurting herself."

They enter the room and see that Meredith is not in the room. Derek sees that the bathroom door is closed. Derek knocks on the door.

"Mer? You okay?" Derek asks.

"...yeah be right out." Meredith comes out a minute later and is surprised to see Dr Bailey. "Hi Dr Bailey! What are you doing here?"

"I'm hanging with you today!" Bailey says.

Derek explains that he has to go to the hospital for an emergency case and that Dr Bailey is going to stay with her today.

Meredith mutters under her breath that she doesn't need a babysitter.

"Meredith, Dr Bailey will be helping you today. Please be nice to her and not stubborn. She'll help you with whatever you need." Derek kisses her on the top of her head. "Please eat today Mer."

"I don't need food." Meredith says. Derek tells her she needs food and then leaves.

"Yes you do Grey!" Bailey tells her. She can see that Meredith has lost a lot of weight. She can tell that she's very underweight. "Come on let's go get you some breakfast! What would you like to eat?"
