A few days later Meredith was going into work later than Derek was scheduled for. She decided to take this opportunity to go for a run. She's been getting super dizzy all of the time but has just been ignoring it and exercising anyways.

Before she left for her run Meredith had to weigh herself. Her weight had gone down even more but it still wasn't to her liking. It wasn't good enough or low enough for her. Even though she is very underweight she doesn't see herself that way. She views her body as being huge and wants all of that extra weight gone.

Meredith goes for her run and does her normal amount of miles. She didn't realize it but Bailey happened to drive past her during her run. Meredith was only in a fitted tank top and shorts which allowed Bailey to see just how much weight Meredith had lost. Bailey thought that Meredith looked like a skeleton. She's surprised that Meredith hasn't passed out again. The truth was that Meredith has passed out a bunch but no one saw it happen. Bailey gets to work and goes straight to Derek and fills him in on what she just saw.

At the end of her conversation with Derek she tells him "Derek I don't think we have a choice anymore, I'm really scared for her. I think we need to hospitalize her. She's not going to be happy but we need to do it for her own good."

Derek sighs and says that she's right. "Let me talk to her tonight. We can admit her tomorrow morning."

Meredith is now a few hours into her shift. Her thoughts are really bad right now. She goes to a supply closet and locks the door behind her. Her thoughts are telling her that she's not good enough and so fat. She is crying because of all of the thoughts in her head. In a daze she proceeds to get a scalpel and cuts herself a few times. Once she is satisfied she cleans herself up and then leaves the supply closet.

Still in a daze, Meredith walks down the hallway not realizing that Dr. Bailey is right behind her.

Meredith mutters to herself "I am so fat. I need to lose more weight. My body is so disgusting. I won't be happy until I lose enough weight."

Bailey happened to hear every word Meredith just said.

Later that night Derek goes upstairs to talk to Meredith about admitting her. "Meredith I need to talk to you."

"Ok"

"I talked to Bailey and we are both very concerned about you. You have lost an insane amount of weight and we are very scared and worried about your health. Nothing is helping you. I know that you will just continue to lose more weight which we cannot have. So Bailey and I have decided that we are going to be admitting you to the hospital tomorrow morning. We are supposed to be there for 10 am."

"No! I'm not going! I'm fine! I haven't lost any weight! You guys are crazy for thinking that!" Meredith yelled at Derek.

"Meredith, I'm sorry but this is not up for discussion. You are being admitted to Seattle Grace tomorrow morning. It's for your own good."

"No! No! No! No!" Meredith screamed as she ran upstairs and into her room. She locked the door behind her and proceeded to sob. "I hate my life! Why does this always have to happen to me?" Meredith goes and self harms for a while.

Derek tries to get into her room when he hears her sobs but in his hurry to get in breaks the key in the lock. He works on getting the broken key out of the doorknob and is eventually successful. He goes and finds another key and gets in but by that point Meredith has cried herself to sleep already.
