Chapter XCVII

《At the port》
When Juliana and Adrielle arrived at the port, they immediately boarded the Lotus Flower when they saw the pirates talking on the deck.

《On the Lotus Flower》
When they boarded the ship, they got near Jack who was talking with Johari, Anne, and the Turners.

Adrielle: (To Jack) Thank you for waiting us.
Jack: I told you we would.
Juliana: How's Ruby?!
Johari: The cut's better.
Henry: She's resting in her cabin.
Juliana: I need to see her.
Anne: She's still in shock because of what happened. It seems like she's not even fully aware of what's going on.
Elizabeth: July, what happened with your mom?
Juliana: I don't know. It's like I don't even know her at all.
Will: (To Adrielle) You said you wanted to go to Pantano Island?
Adrielle: Yeah.
Will: Do you want us to take you now? We're going on a little vacation on the Flying Dutchman.
Johari: We are going to leave too. Port Royal is not a safe place for pirates.
Juliana: I wanna leave but I need to see Ruby.
Jack: We can go on both ships to the isle.
Adrielle: (Nods)
Will: So we're going to the Dutchman to get the ship going.
Juliana: I'm going to stay here at the Lotus Flower until I can see Ruby. Then I'll go to the Dutchman.

Will, Elizabeth, Henry, Carina and Adrielle left for the Flying Dutchman, leaving Juliana as the only non-pirate aboard the Lotus Flower.

As soon as Will gave the signal on the Flying Dutchman and Johari gave the signal on the Lotus Flower, both ships began to move away from the port.

Juliana, left alone, took the opportunity to try to go down to the captain's cabin, but Jack saw her.

Jack: Where do you think you're going, girl?
Juliana: I really need to see Ruby.
Jack: She still doesn't know anything about what's going on.The shock she felt at what Marianne tried to do was very great.
Juliana: I just want to see her. Nothing else.
Jack: (Sighs) Alright. But try not to confuse her. She's only been responding with looks and gestures.
Juliana: Relax. I wouldn't be able to hurt her.
Jack: Ok, go on then. Want a bottle of rum?

Juliana, going down to the captain's cabin, saw Ruby sitting at the foot of the bed, giving her back to the door.

Ruby, still not fully aware of what was happening, heard the footsteps in the entrance and turned to look.

It wasn't long before Ruby regained consciousness.

Juliana: (Peeks through the cabin door) Ruby?
Ruby: (Turns to see Juliana)
Juliana: Can I come in?
Ruby: (Nods)
Juliana: (Enters the room) How have you been?
Ruby: Fine.
Juliana: Can I sit?
Ruby: (Nods)
Juliana: (Sits next to Ruby) You really feel better?
Ruby: I just feel a pain in my back. Like something has scratched or cut me.
Juliana: Please forgive me.
Ruby: Forgive you for what?
Juliana: For what my mom did.

Ruby looked a little confused at first but soon began to remember the scene at Juliana's house and began to better understand what was happening and where she was.

Ruby: (Fully conscious) What did Marianne do?
Juliana: You don't remember? The penknife?
Ruby: She tried to use it against me, didn't she?
Juliana: You really don't remember anything?
Ruby: I remember seeing Marianne taking a silver penknife out of her pocket. After that I knew nothing until now when I see you sitting next to me in... (Looks around) ...The cabin of the... Lotus Flower?
Juliana: (Nods) That's right. You're safe here on your ship.
Ruby: What happened?
Juliana: My mom did indeed try to use the penknife on you. But Jack and I intervened in her attack.
