Way to the Pantano Island
As Ruby stood at the helm with a bottle of rum she had bought in Tortuga before leaving the tavern, she was soon approached by Johari and Anne.

Johari: You look more energetic, Captain!
Anne: I see you kinda sad.
Ruby: (Takes a sip of rum) Yes ti the first and yes to the second as well.
Anne: Why the sadness?
Johari: (To Ruby) Could you tell him?
Anne: (Confused) Tell what to who?
Ruby: Yes, Johari. I told him. It was... harder than I expected.
Johari: How did he take it?
Ruby: Actually... better than I expected.
Johari: I told you.
Anne: (Confused) Can someone tell to me what are you talking about?
Ruby: It's over, Anne.
Anne: (Worried) What's over?!
Johari: (Looks asking at Ruby)
Ruby: (Nods as an answer)
Johari: (Responding to Anne) Captain's relationship.
Anne: (Confused) What relationship?
Johari: Her relationship with Captain Sparrow.

By this point, many of the crew members were already on deck listening to Captain Ruby Evans' comments.

Anne: (To Ruby) Is that true?
Ruby: It is indeed. Jack and I broke up. Our relationship is over.
Anne: It was a matter of time. I saw that coming. I'd been noticing you as being quite distant.
Ruby: It was actually me who was getting away from him. I think it affected him a little more.He would still be with me if it weren't for the fact that the spark that kept that relationship afloat had gone out in me.
Johari: And what about the other thing?
Ruby: Do you still have the ring?
Johari: (Shows her the rings) Here it is. Do you want it back?
Ruby: (Shakes her head)
Johari: Are you gonna do it or you're gonna see her?
Ruby: Both.
Anne: What are you gonna do?
Ruby: Right now I wanna give an important announcement to the whole crew. Taking advantage of the fact that they are listening even if they don't admit it or say otherwise.
Sadie: (Approaches, acknowledging that she had been listening) Everything's okay cap'n? Besides your breakup with Sparrow, of course.
Ruby: Everything's fine. But there's something... I've been thinking a lot lately. It's not an easy thing to say. And least of all to you, with whom I have been sailing for years and consider a big family.
Thomas: You were the one who said it, cap'n! We're a big family. You can trust in us!
Grace: We'll always be there for you for whatever you need!

Ruby, hearing these and other beautiful comments that many of the pirates in her crew had been saying, remembered the conversation she had had with Juliana after she had regained consciousness after almost being stabbed by Marianne.

Flashback
Juliana: Jack's going to be happy to see you better.
Ruby: You really think that?
Juliana: Actually, not just Jack. The whole crew is going to be happy. Those pirates really admire you.
Ruby: I tried hard to make my crew a team. Not a pyramid of power. But a family. That's what I always wanted.
Juliana: Pirates. A family of criminals, hm?
Ruby: You know I wouldn't be able to hurt anyone. All damage caused by the crew of the Lotus Flower was in self-defense.
Juliana: I also admire you. After the difficult childhood you had, you managed to become a leader admired by many.
End of flashback

Ruby: (Giving the announcement) A lot has happened lately! My fall and return from Hell of the Caribbean, meeting Liana, my conversation and near-stabbing from Marianne, the short trip to Whitecap Bay, and now my breakup with Jack. It hasn't been easy! It's been very tiring, actually! And... it's true that the pirate life saved me from the constant suffering I had before choosing a life on the high seas! But it's also been hard to be in charge of a whole crew! My plan at the beginning was to get away from that place! (Smiling) I never imagined I would end up taking care of a big family! Thanks to you I discovered what a family really was. 'Cause, what I had at home... didn't support me or take care of me. It only made me suffer. So I'll always be grateful to all of you!
Anne: These are very nice words you're saying to us, Captain. But for some reason, this all sounds like a farewell to me.
