Chapter XCI

《After the celebration》
It was nighttime and the celebration aboard the Black Pearl was already over. Most of the pirates had already gone to sleep in the ship's cabins, only a few remained tidying and chatting. Among them were Jack, Gibbs, Pike, Scrum, Ruby, Johari, Anne, Carina, Henry and Juliana.

《While they tidy up and clean》
Jack: (To Ruby) How was your welcome party, Apple Pie?
Ruby: I needed it. I missed celebrating with a lot of people.
Gibbs: So you had celebrations down there, Little Ruby?
Ruby: (Chuckles at the nickname) Little... I still remember the first time you called me that way. (Answering Gibbs' question) But no, I don't think it can be called a celebration if there's no music and only two people. Also, the food down there was almost tasteless.
Carina: Today I saw you eating lots of strawberries.
Ruby: Aye. I also ate strawberries just yesterday. But as I said, they were almost tasteless.
Anne: And being your favorite fruit, I imagine it must have not been nice to try a tasteless one.
Ruby: I hadn't eaten one for a long time, so I ate it anyway.

After tidying up and cleaning up, the crew members who were still awake gathered up the remaining scraps of food and sat on the floor next to the helm to continue talking and eating the leftover food.

Pike: (To the inhabitants of Port Royal) And what about you? How did you find this pirate celebration?
Henry: The truth is that I was starving. What I did the most was eating.
Carina: Everyone in Port Royal believes that pirates only dedicate themselves to stealing and attacking other ships. No one would imagine that they take moments of relaxation to eat and dance.
Scrum: We may be pirates, but before that we're humans.
Anne: Which doesn't mean we don't enjoy stealing wealth from the rich.
Johari: Some more than others.
Pike: And what about you, Juliana? How did you find it?
Juliana: I have to admit that I enjoyed the food and the music. But the grudge I have against pirates will never go away...

Ruby felt guilty as she easily understood that Juliana was saying that because of her father's death.

Juliana: ... Still, regardless of whether you are pirates, as Scrum said, you are humans first, and little by little I am seeing you more as friends than as pirates.
Carina: (To the pirates) After that, feel flattered because it's not easy for July to make new friends.
Juliana: (Smiles)
Jack: I'm glad to know you're not a threat to us.
Henry: You helped me get back my father. I'll always be grateful for that.
Gibbs: Well, well. Grateful for this alliance and trust. But the stars are shining and the wind is blowing. If you don't mind, I'm going to sleep now. (Gets up to go down to the cabins)
Scrum: I'm also getting sleepy and I doubt there will be any hammocks or comfortable places to sleep. (Gets up to go with Gibbs)
Pike: (Getting up) I'm going with you.
Anne: Good night, guys.

《After Gibbs, Scrum and Pike went down to the cabins》
Jack: Apple Pie, Gibbs' right. Night's getting cold. We should go to sleep now.
Ruby: Are you joking? I spent almost three years locked up in a place with high temperatures where neither day nor night existed, and the stars are something that I have admired all my life. I prefer to stay here even if it's cold, and wait for the dawn.
Jack: Are you sure, Apple Pie? Because I am getting sleepy.
Ruby: You can go to sleep if you want. I'm not getting mad.

Jack approached Ruby and gave her a kiss before saying goodbye and going down to the captain's cabin of the Black Pearl to sleep.
