The umbrella academy: In which Five gets all the love he deserves

It's shame really. Their road trip had been cut short because of a disturbance. Poor Five. He can't ever catch a break. At least he had a few days of relaxation. Klaus would have wished for their road trip to be longer. But Five was adamant to go back because there was another destruction coming and they had to warn the others. So here they were on their way back to their family. Though there would be few days until they would be back because they put a lot of distance and they just started going back. A few hours into the drive, it was starting to darken outside and Klaus knew that they would have to pull over soon. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Five dozing off for a few seconds before his head snapped back up and he shake it to stay awake.

"We when passed this town last time, I saw a motel around here. We will be there in half an hour"

"No."Five said immediately. "We can't waste time. We continue on without stopping"

"Well too bad. Not going to happen because I'm tired"

"Then move over and I will drive"

"Yeah. No thank you. You are tired as well and I don't want to risk falling asleep at the wheel and crashing the car"

"I'm not going to crash the car, "Five said through gritted teeth.

"Sure thing buddy. Now that I think about it. If it's so urgent then why are you not teleporting us back there instead of having to drive"

"Because I want to enjoy the trip as much as I could before I have to deal with this mess" That and even if he doesn't want to admit it, he was too tired to blink himself out from the car. Much else he and Klaus miles away.

"Fair point, "Klaus said as he continued to drive. The drive was made in silence. The only noise was the soft music from the radio. He saw Five nodding off a couple of more times but he never stayed up. That stubborn little shit. He had to make sure that Five would fall asleep before he go to sleep as well. Soon enough they arrived at the motel. It looked shabby and there were some letters missing from the board, but it would have to do. "Stay here", he said as he parked the car and got out from the car. Five hummed without protest. Klaus walked inside the building and he cringed at the smell of smoke. The wall was stained and chipped and there were some bugs flying around. If that's how the front desk looked, he was dreading to see how the rooms looked. The receptionist didn't notice him. He was busy watching something on tv and eating. Or more like getting food on himself than eating it. "Excuse me," Klaus said with a polite smile.

"Yeah," The man asked boredly as he looked up at him. 

"I need a room for the night. With two beds"

"Sorry. But all the rooms have only a double bed"

"Alright. I take it", he said. Five won't be pleased about it. But he doesn't know if there's another motel in this town. And is this or sleeping in a car. He doesn't know about Five. But Klaus would prefer to sleep in a bed. He paid for the room and the man gave him the key.

When Klaus walked outside he chuckled when he saw Five asleep, leaning against the window. Shame that he would have to wake him up. With a mischievous smirk, he opened the driver seat and honked. Five woke up with a start and blinked out from the car. "I'm going to kill you", he snarled, and Klaus chuckled.

"Do it tomorrow. Alright, buddy. Let's go. We get a room"

Five walked after Klaus, glaring at him. When they arrived at their room and Klaus opened it and walked inside Five was tempted to go back and sleep in the car. The room was smelly. There was dust and dirt on the floor. Clearly, the room hadn't been cleaned for a while. The paint on the wall was chipped and there was some mold as well. And the worst part. There was only one bed. "Really?"

Klaus shrugged as he jumped on the bed that creaked under his weight. "I know that it looks worse. But it's better than nothing"

"I'm not going to sleep in a bed with you"

"Then you are welcome to go and sleep in the car"

"Fine" Five said turning around ready to leave. It's not like he hadn't slept in worse places. Compared to the places he slept in during the Apocalypse, sleeping in a car is a luxury. Before he could walk out he was stopped by his brother. "Let go"

"No way Fivey. You won't sleep in the car"Five opened his mouth to protest but he had been stopped by Klaus. "The bed is big enough for the both of us to not touch each other"

"Fine," he said and he climbed into the bed, followed by Klaus. They were both too tired to bother to shower. Plus, if the room is like this, the bathroom must be even more disgusting. So no thank you. Five laid down on the left side of the bed and Klaus on the right side. There was a few cm space between them. Five grabbed the blanket, it was hot outside anyway, and placed it in the empty space. "If you pass the banket, I will kill you," he said and Klaus ignore him. Klaus said that he would wait until Five would fall asleep. But he hadn't realized how tired he was until he closed his eyes. He fell asleep in instant. It didn't take long for Five to fall asleep as well. A while later Klaus's body navigate closer to Five, and he wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling closer to his chest, unconsciously.

When Five woke up he fell warm. And not the uncomfortable type of warmth. But the comfortable and safe type of warmth. He sighed and he snuggled closer in the arms that were holding him. Wait. Arms? Five eyes snapped open and he realized that he was in his brother's arms. Klaus was spooning him from behind. He gritted his teeth, he had warned his brother about keeping his distance. He tried to remove Klaus's arms from his waist, but no matter how much he tried, he was not successful because the hold was tightening. "You ask for it", he said under his breath and he elbowed Klaus in the stomach.

Klaus woke up with a gasp and he moved away unconsciously. "Five. What the hell?" he asked as he rubbed his aching stomach.

"I told you to keep your distance away from me. But in the morning I woke up with you spooning me" he said and Klaus opened and closed his mouth like a fish for a few seconds before he smirked.

"Aww. I wish that I was the one who woke up first so I can hug you more, my adorable little teddy bear", he said teasingly.

"Shut your mouth. Or you are dead", he said threateningly. But of course, Klaus didn't shut up. Because he knew that Five threats were empty. So he continued to call him a teddy bear, even on the road, and Five was tempted to open the car door and jump from the moving car. One thing was for sure. If Klaus tells the others that he used him like a teddy bear, his threats won't be empty anymore.
