Five should be happy, right? He was home. They Apocalypse had been prevented and his siblings are alive. He has his family back. So he should be happy. He is though. And a bit annoyed as well. Because his siblings are treating him like a kid now that they know that he's actually 13. They didn't let him drink coffee anymore, or drive. And neither consume alcohol. He remembered with a smile on his face one day when he had been caught by Luther, drinking alcohol. His poor brother almost had a heart attack. He remembered that it was one of those days when he couldn't sleep afraid that when he would open his eyes again, this would all be a dream and he would wake up back in the Apocalypse. So he had left his room and raided his father's alcohol bar. It's not the first time he drank. He did it in the apocalypse as well. And it's not like he wanted to. Believe him. The alcohol is horrible and it's burning his stomach. But there were times when he was thirsty and there was nothing else to drink but that. So he had become kind of an addict. So Five grabbed a bottle of whisky and poured it in a glass before he started to drink it. He was at his second glass when he was ambushed by his gorilla brother.
"Five. what the hell do you think that you are doing?"Five jumped as he heard his brother's angry tone and he looked at him. But his brother was not angry. On the contrary. He was shocked to see his 13-year-old drinking alcohol.
"Isn't it obvious? Or have you gone blind?" he asked and he was about to drink the alcohol but Luther grabbed his glass.
"You are 13"
"Thanks for pointing out the obvious"
Luther rolled his yes. "You are 13 years old. You are not allowed to drink alcohol. What even made you think that it's normal"
Five shrugged. "I did it in the apocalypse. So", he said it like it was nothing.
"Well. You are not in the Apocalypse anymore. So no more alcohol"
"And how should I sleep then?" he asked. He knew that alcohol was not healthy. But it's the only thing that knocks him out. Luther grabbed his hand wordlessly and dragged him into the kitchen. Five didn't protest or said anything because he was curious to see what his brother would do.
Tea. That's what he made. "Drink", he said putting a cup of steaming tea in front of Five. And the boy looked at it like it was an alien. Or something that was offending him. Did his brother think that this tea would help him fall asleep? "Believe me. It would help" Luther said when he saw Five look. Five sighed. He really wants to sleep. So he grabbed the mug and with a small thank you before he teleported to his room, where he drank the tea slowly. After he finished he realized that he was getting drowsy. It actually helped and knock him out.
Yeah. Five remembered that like it was yesterday. Which it was actually. Anyway. Even though he promised his brother that he won't touch the alcohol anymore, his brother didn't trust him. And he told the others as well, which made him go through hours of scolding and explanations about why it wasn't healthy to drink alcohol. His siblings said that they threw everything away. But Five knows them. He just hid the alcohol somewhere where he can't find it. Or at least that's what they thought.
Anyway. Five was happy to be together with his family even with them treating him like a kid. But his happiness was short-lived. Besides the sleepless nights and the nightmares, he got anxiety and panic too. He's smart. He knows that he has what people call PTSD. His triggers are thunders and ash. Thunders because they are loud and he was used to the silence of the Apocalypse. And the ash because it remembered about the Apocalypse and how the air was polluted by the smoke and ash. Most of them happened when he's alone. Which is bad, because as much as he hates to be vulnerable around his family, he wished to have their comfort as well. There were times when it happened when the others were home as well. Sometimes at night when he would be woken up from a nightmare by a loud boom of the thunder. On that nights, he curls himself on the bed, breathing heavily, and pleaded in his mind for this to stop. He knew that logical it would be to just go to his siblings. But he couldn't make his body move no matter what. What was worse was that it had been a week where there had been thunderstorms every night and Five had barely caught a wink of sleep. And when that happened his siblings noticed that something was wrong with him.
