The last thing that the Hargreeves siblings thought that they would do was to go to that Commission willingly. It's not a place where they are happy to be there. But they have their reasons. These ones are tied with Five. You see. They all get tired every time Five come home hurt when he goes out because there are rogue agents who wanted to kill Five because he had killed the Handler and the Board. So every time he foes out, he comes back, bloody and hurt because of that people. Because the Commission didn't bother to take care of them, because apparently, Five can do it for them. No matter how many times he said that he doesn't want to kill anyone anymore. They were angry about it so they decided to march there and threaten Herb to take care of his people or he would regret it. Because if not he would need to be afraid of them. Not Five. He agreed easily, nodding furiously and anxiously.
The second motive was Five nightmares. Even after months after Five had returned to them, he still has nightmares, either about the Apocalypse or about the time in the Commission. On nights like this, he either woke up screaming, making the others burst into his room worried that something bad happened, only to see their brother in the middle of a panic attack. Something that always broke their heart. Five is always strong. Seeing him so vulnerable and scared was heartbreaking. Calming him down is not an easy job either. He either doesn't let them near him and he blinks away from them, making them look after him throughout the whole house, or if they try to approach him and touch him, he would hit them. And truly speaking even when panicking Five punches hurt like hell.
There were times when he let them approach him and touch him. But even then it takes a lot of coaxing and shushing to calm him down. And sometimes they are not even successful and Five passes out because he breathes too fast. Some nights he woke up without noise. So they don't know that he had a nightmare, until in the morning when they found him in the kitchen drinking coffee or alcohol. Incredible unhealthy. They tried many times to make him tell them about his nightmares. Or about his time with the Commission or in the Apocalypse. Because talking helps. But he always refuses with the same words. "It's not important" Of course, it's fucking important. Their little brother was hurt and they tried to help him. But unfortunately, Five was too stubborn to accept or ask for help.
So their only solution was to go to the Commission and talk with Herb about that as well. Maybe he would know something about it. Which he did. "Normally this is forbidden for someone that is not part of the Commission. But as Five family I can make an exception for you"
"So... You would tell us about Five time here and in the Apocalypse?"Klaus asked.
"I can do more than that. I can show you"
The siblings looked at each other confused. "How?"
"There's a device here called the infinite switch. You can see everything here about anyone. Past. Present. Even future. I can show you Five time here and in the Apocalypse using that if that's what you want"He said and they nodded. Herb walked out from the office and made a sign to follow him.
The siblings followed him. They walked past some of the agents and they were completely disgusted as they heard the words they said about their brother.
"Have you heard about that rogue agents? I heard that they've been killed by Five"
"I did. Five's such a legend"
"He's the best"
"I wish I was as good as him"'
"It's a shame that he doesn't want to be part of the Commission anymore"
It was sickening. These people were praising his brother for being a murderer. They were talking fondly about his brother's actions at the Commission. It was clear. This place was full of sick people. And they were not the only ones. As they passed more people they all talked about his fondly about his missions and killing. There were even posters on the wall. There were with a man a few years younger than them. Maybe in his middle or late twenties. His hair was shoulder length and black and his face was blank, expressionless. They were confused about who that was. Until they spotted a similar one with a name under it. Five name. So that was Five at that age. They have posters with him and acting like he was a star or a legend on how people say it. Disgusting. Five is always tormented by the mission he did there, by the people he killed. And these people are acting like he did a good thing and that he was a hero. They wonder how many of that killed people, that these agents spoke about their murder so fondly, were innocent. That was something that they didn't want to know.
