For some reason, his siblings are ignoring him and Five has no idea why? It's not like it was the first time. They did it almost all the time even since he had returned to them. And even if that was bothering him, he didn't let it show. It's not like he was trying to understand why they avoid him or ask them why. Instead, he does what he always does. Lock himself in the house library or his room and he comes out when it was mealtime. Even there it's awkward for him. Because the others are chatting happily with each other and they ignore Five like he was not even there. It was annoying and hurtful at the same time. Then one day Allison announced happily that her ex was bringing Claire for a visit this weekend. The others were happy but Five could care less. Apparently, his weekend would be ruined by an annoyingly loud, and nosy little kid.

The weekend had come faster than Five wanted and he was forced to stay in the living room as he waited with the others for the appearance of their guest. When they finally arrived, Five wanted to be anywhere else, because the high voice of the little girl was driving him crazy already. His siblings had welcomed their guests warmly and after Allison had hugged his daughter tight and long she introduced her to the others.

Five decided to think of new equations or critique in his mind a recent book that he had read. He was broken from his daydreaming soon after by a little voice. "Hi", he looked to his left side to see Claire looking at him shyly. The voice belonged to her.

"Hi", he answered as politely as he could. He feels awkward because he doesn't know how to act around little kids.

"What's your name?" she asked as she rocked on her heels, her hands at her back.

"Five", he answers simply.

"Like the number?"

"Exactly"

"Why are you here?" she asked and wow. That's rude. But maybe she doesn't want to be rude. She was just curious.

"This where I live"

"Are you the child of one of mama's brothers?" she asked and Five eye twitched at that words.

"No. I'm her brother"

"Oh," she said and Five saw something in her eyes that was gone too soon to identify it. Their conversation ended there because she went back to her mother and Five returned back to his daydreaming to tune out the conversations around him.

The next time he had been broken from his daydreaming, it was by Allison because it was lunchtime. So Five dragged himself from the couch in the living room and he walked into the kitchen where everyone was. Claire was talking happily with his siblings and her father was smiling at her, though he could see that he was feeling a little awkward. His guess was that he was civil with his ex-wife and her family only for the sake of his daughter. Five sat down between Allison and Diego. The little girl looked at him and he saw that emotion flash in her eyes again. Two times. After he sat down beside her mother and when Allison put the food on Five plate firstly. "You better eat all of it", she said and Five ignored her. He would eat, There's no reason for her or the others to repeat the same thing all the time when they eat.

His day grew worse, later when after lunch, the family returned back in the living room to watch a movie. Half an hour into the movie, Five went into the kitchen to grab himself a cup of coffee. Soon after Claire walked after him. "Mmm. Can I have a glass of water?" she asked.

Five grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water before he handed it to the girl wordlessly. He expected for the girl to drink it. Not doing this. She poured all the water on herself before she started yelling and crying. Allison and his brothers immediately rushed inside. "Claire. What's wrong?", she asked softly as she kneeled down and wiped her daughter's tears.
