(Rylie's POV)
After a week of gruesome heavy lifting and pushing her body to the limit, Rylie was finally able to rest. She sighed and leaned her body on the swing, and kicked a pebble on the ground.
"Rylie! Hey."
Rylie tipped her head forward and smiled at the small girl who waved at her. Mace walked towards the swing she was sitting on and sat on the other one.
Mace is the kid who Aly tried to save from the fight against Carlos, and Mace was stuck to Aly like glue since they are training for a week now. But the kid is directly attached to her, too, after learning that she was a human before.
Mace is born and raised inside the pack and doesn't have permission to go outside of the pack's location. Rylie told the kid that she will bring Mace to an amusement park once she is older and try other things to do for fun. Now, Mace wants to hear more stories of where she's been and what fun things she did during those times.
"Why aren't you allowed to go outside of the pack?"
Rylie can't help but ask. She had been asking herself that question ever since Mace told her about it.
Mace looked down and began to fiddle with her hands. And Rylie patiently waited for the girl to speak up.
"W-Well. Sometimes becoming a werewolf is unpredictable. There are times that kids like us begin to transform early and will hurt human kids if we blend in with them; that's why we are not allowed to go outside of the pack but once we controlled our cravings and our temper. The elders allowed us to go to school or work outside."
Rylie felt sorry for the kids. She was lucky she was a human and got to experience going where she wants to go. And early transformation? Werewolves have that?
Rylie opened her mouth to speak, but they were interrupted when shouts erupted from the other pack members. Rylie and Mace looked at each other. Then they walked towards the commotion.
"There is a two rogue werewolf sighted on our borders. Call Aly, and we will head there."
"W-Wait. Can I come too?" Rylie held Hunter's shoulder, and he looked at her like she was losing her mind.
"B-But you can't even control your wolf."
"I-I can take care of myself."
There's nothing she had been doing for the last few days since Aly stopped her training. She needs to test her skill somehow and practice what Aly taught her. It's not like she fights against the wolf one on one, is she? Plus, it will be essential for her research.
And she's perturbed about Aly too. What if Aly will encounter not just rogues but witches too?
Hunter shook his head and grabbed her hand. "You can't come with us. Rogue werewolves are unpredictable. Only skilled werewolves can fight it off."
The guy walked past her, and other pack members hushed each other and disappeared into the Alpha's cabin. Rylie huffed and crossed her arms together. She wants to go and write what she finds about wolves in her journals. But how can she do that if they won't allow her to go?
Mace pulled her clothes. "I don't think it's a good idea to go, Rylie. Rogues are scary."
The kid whispered the last part. Rylie put her hands on Mace's shoulder and held it firmly. "I still need to go there, Mace. Don't tell Aly."
Mace looked at her as she walked in the direction of the Alpha's Cabin, and she puts a thumbs up in the air, but Mace just shook her head. As if telling her that it was a bad idea.

Rylie forced a smile as she walked towards the hallway where Aly brought her before. She kept glancing back and forth in fear that one of the elders will spot her walking towards the Alpha's office. When Rylie spotted it. She immediately went towards the door and leaned her ears on the wood. With her enhance hearing, she can somewhat hear what they are saying.
"They are on our borders......how the hell did the rogues are becoming somewhat agitated and moving to our parts?"
She heard the Alpha Gab's angry voice and a fist hitting the table.
"Maybe something had driven them to come here," Aly said.
"Rogues are becoming a threat to the pack, and those witches will be able to sniff us out if rogues find our location. We need to stop them."
"Go to the borders and capture those Rogues if you can. But don't hesitate to kill them if they became a threat to your lives." Alpha Gab said. "Now, go."
Rylie immediately ran towards the other side of the hallway and glanced at the members of the pack lead by Aly as they made their way outside of the Alpha's office. She followed closely behind. She knew that Aly would surely sniff her out if she were at a distance from their wolf senses, so she just waited until the teams were out of sight. She will just sniff out Aly's scent.
When Rylie felt like they can't sense her. She immediately followed, sniffing the air around her as she followed the trail that leads her towards Aly's scent. There were rivers, trees, and a few bushes that she walked on, and she was about to give up when she heard a crunch of dried leaves.
Rylie whipped her head towards the sound and opened her mouth to shriek when Aly grabbed her waist and sealed her mouth with a hand. Rylie's eyes grew big. She can't breathe, not because Aly is covering her mouth but because her heart is beating fast. And their closeness is making her face heat up too!
"Sssshhhhh...."
"A-Aly...."
"Why are you here?!" Aly throws her a glare and glance around. "The rogues could be here. Why did you follow us?"
"I just want to test my skills---I---"
"This is not the time to test your skills. You can't even match me if we duel in a fight. What the hell are you thinking? Can you fight a rogue?"
Rylie shook her head. Yes, she knows she can't fight a rogue, but she wants Aly to be safe too. And why the hell can't she come just because she's not skilled enough?
Her eyebrow furrowed.
"Stay here."
Aly turned her back on Rylie and was about to transform. Rylie opened her mouth to protest, but she saw a hairy creature emerged in a clearing. It has many hairs on its body and snarling with saliva dripping on its mouth.
She grabbed Aly's hand. Aly must have sensed the wolf and growled lowly. "Rylie. I want you to run."
Rylie shook her head. "N-No. Let me fight with you."
Aly looked at her and shook her head, smiling. "You are really stubborn."
"It's part of the package."
Aly shook her head and smiled at her amusedly. Then turned her head towards the rogue, and Aly's face became serious as the wolf sniffs its surroundings.
"I spotted one rogue werewolf here. I need some help."
Rylie heard Aly's mind link, and they both looked at the rogue werewolf as it geared its head towards the two of them.
Aly ran towards the wolf, transforming in mid-air as she jumped into the clearing transforming into a white wolf. Rylie ran too and grabbed a stick to use as a way of protecting herself.
