Aly told Rylie what happened and she bit her lip. There was a worried look on her face.
"S-She said there's a spy among us?"
Aly nodded her head. Her eyebrows furrowed. "She knew that the pack needs trust to be able to protect each other. We never betray each other because it would cost us our very own life. So I think she was saying that to sow distrust and fear. I won't let her."
After that Aly closed her hands into a fists until her knuckles were white. She should have ended Nora's life. The minute she learned about the betrayal but she didn't. She couldn't do it because at that time. She was still in love with the heretic witch.
Rylie walked towards her and held her hands. It created an instant relief to Aly. It's the most heartwarming gesture from her mate. No one had ever done this before and she felt tears started to form on the corner of her eyes.
After all the hardship she faced before. The moon Goddess fated her with Rylie. Innocent, wonderful and brave Rylie. She couldn't ask for more.
"W-Why are you crying?"
Aly shook her head. "I-I'm just happy that I have you. For a long time. I thought that the moon goddess had cursed me, because I killed my own family. B-But h-here you are, a beautiful gift."
"Oh, Aly." Rylie put her arms around her.
She felt warm and put her arms around Rylie. They stayed that way for a while before Aly leaned back a little to look at Rylie's face.
She smiled. Rylie is really a beautiful gift. Her eyes drop to Rylie's slightly opened mouth and her eyes immediately softened. It would be so easy to unwrap her but they still needed to do the mission. If they consummate their mating, it would be hard to stay away from each other.
Rylie must have felt the way that she stares. It was making the room hot. And she could already smell Rylie's arousal.
Shit. They would consummate their mating if she makes a move like this. Rylie doesn't need the distraction right now.
Aly stood up and put her arms around Rylie's shoulder to put a distance between them.
"I-I'm sorry. We shouldn't consummate the mating. I'll go." Aly then made a quick kiss on Rylie's forehead and her lips before running towards the open window and jumping on it.
She heard Rylie ran towards the window. Aly looked up and Rylie was there. Her mouth curved up into a smirk.
"Once this is over. I'll make sure that you won't leave me like this."
Aly threw her head back laughing. She winked at Rylie before running towards the direction of the pack.
Aly... thank you...
That's the last mind linked Rylie gave her before she was out of her mate's mind linked range.
Aly couldn't help but smile as she made her way to the pack. Rylie for her is Goddess sent since the day that they met. She never thought that she would fall in love with someone like Rylie. She wasn't like Nora. It's the exact opposite of the woman she fell in love with in the past.
---------------
Just before she was near the entrance of the pack's location. A group of crow started to circle in the entrance of the archway.
What the hell?
Aly looked around her. Is this what Nora means? How did she manage to find the pack's location?
Shit...Shit. Aly ran inside. Kelly, Hunter, Nathan, Alpha Gab. Look outside.
She mind linked all of them before she stopped to look at the crows. They are cawing and circling each other.
It's already been two days and Nora had the antidote ready? Did she really replicated what Thomas made? But it's not a whisper like she said?
Her eyebrows knitted and she looked at the crows. Just then she felt a tapped on her shoulder and she saw Alpha Gab, then Hunter, Kelly, and Nathan.
They are also looking at the crow like it was an ominous sign from the sky.
"I thought it was a whisper? Why is there many crows around?" Hunter asked and looked at Aly.
"That's what I thought too. Or the crows can sense that something is not right." Alpha Gab squinted at the crows before turning her head on Aly. "Did the scout team already came back?"
Hunter and Kelly looked at each other. Then Kelly gasped.
"W-We haven't seen them for a while." Hunter's eyes became huge. "They never came back for the whole day."
"Damn it!" Alpha Gab bit her lip and turned towards the direction the crows are heading. "Maybe they are hurt or they are ambushed."
"But if that's the case. Why hadn't they just mind linked us?"
"Witches or were-witches." Aly muttered while biting her fingernails.
"Scout team, Delta. Are you hurt?"
They followed Alpha Gab as soon as she transformed. They headed towards the direction of the crow and the border of the pack's location.
They all followed the crow and as soon as they arrived to the destination. Alpha Gab stopped and she vomited what she ate that day. There in the stones and on the ground. The scout teams are rotting. Dried blood coated the stones. They all had a cut on their wrist and white as a sheet. Flies are also everywhere, feasting on the bodies.
Aly couldn't help but look away. The border scout is drained of their blood. It was horrifying to watch. She felt the acid in her stomach turned.
She had seen death so many times but it didn't make her numb. Her body started to shake. Anger started to rise within her. She wants to punch something. So Aly just closed her eyes and her fist tightly. She looked away.
"Who could have done this?" Alpha Gab crouched low to inspect the bodies.
"The were-witches are hunting for our bloods and they won't stop until they drained us all." Kelly gritted her teeth. "It's your order Alpha Gab. We will take over the border patrols for a week and find out if they would show up. We'll alert you right away."
Alpha Gab nodded her head, grief shown in her eyes. Even Nathan and Hunter couldn't stomach looking at their own pack mates.
"Gather the body and let's give them a proper burial."
They all nodded their heads. Then gathered the body. They put it on their back then returned to the pack's location. Aly couldn't help but lowered her head as soon as she saw their pack looking at them with horrified expressions on their faces.
They knew peace when the were-witches aren't hunting the werewolf. But now, they are clearly afraid as they murmur among themselves.
"We're not safe...."
"Oh my Goddess...."
Then they were greeted with horrifying screams and crying once they set the bodies down. The family of the pack members who are dead, crouched down and mourned them.
Alpha Gab looked at her and shook her head. 'They need to grieve. We'll make sure that this won't happen again.'
