'I'LL KILL YOU!' The voice of the Lobo boomed all over the place.
Rylie gritted her teeth. There's not much time left. She needs to defeat the Lobo form in order to utilize its power. It may be too late now if she didn't act fast.
She scrambled to her feet when it started to ran towards her. But it would trample over her in minutes. Her wolf bit her clothes and dragged her away before the massive Lobo could stomp on her.
Her heart beat hard against her chest. She put a hand at the top of her chest and exhaled a breath.
'You almost got crushed."
'You did the same thing before.' Aly throws a daggered look at her grey wolf.
Her wolf scoffed. 'You should be thankful and not analyze things. In a fight, the instinct to survive is a skill you could master!'
Rylie showed her teeth to her wolf. "Alright I get that." She dusted herself off of snow and looked in front of her. Just in time as the Lobo attacked her again.
'Watch out!'
The Lobo slashes its claws at them and her wolf jump. Rylie flattened herself on the snow and quickly stood up as another slash made its way to their direction. She jumped backwards and put a hand towards the ground and pulls herself upward.
She held onto the Lobo's massive paw and when he tried to shake her off. She quickly stood up and imagined a sword in her hands. Like the last time she used to slay it.
"Up to your old tricks again, human?"
Rylie smirked. "No."
She ran in its arms and jump upwards. The Lobo slash towards hers in an attempt to catch her but she just jumps on its arms and then stab its forearm.
He howls in pain and clutch it. But Rylie wasn't finished yet. She jumped on the other paw and used the sword to slice its legs before stabbing it in the shoulder.
She jumped to the ground when it rained red blood. Then she imagined another sword in her hands. She immediately clutched the hilt of the sword when she felt the metal manifested in her hands.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" The black Lobo snarled and ran towards her despite its right leg being severed.
Rylie scrambled to dodge but it was too late. The wolf head butted her and she flew towards a tree.
Her back immediately hit the tree and she groaned in pain. She opened her eyes and everything became blurry. The black Lobo is momentarily distracted because of her grey wolf. The grey wolf was able to bit the Lobo form and Rylie shook her head.
She needs to help her Lobo form.
She furrowed her forehead to imagine an assault rifle in her hands. Her hands gripped the metal tightly. She stood up and shook her head again to get the dizziness out of her system.
Then she aimed the gun towards the massive black wolf. Her grey wolf is not being held in its paw against a tree.
"No!" Rylie shouted and she successfully caught the black wolf's attention. It turned towards her and Rylie took that chance and pulled the trigger.
The black wolf's eyes became wide but it was too late for it as a barrage of bullets hit its whole body and face. The wolf snarled and ran towards her. But Rylie stood her ground.
"Ahhhh!" She shouted and held the weapon against her shoulder. The impact was meant to tip her backward but she planted her feet on the ground securely.
The black wolf stopped in its track. Then it dropped to the ground in a bloody heap.
Her grey wolf ran towards her and circled her in a happy dance. 'You did it!'
Rylie smiled. That's one hell of a fight. She's getting good at these. Even though the Lobo form is also getting skilled in fighting her.
"I don't have time. I'll go again."
"But can't we take a break---"
Rylie shook her head. "No."
Her wolf whined but Rylie is already running towards the light. She was engulfing by the light and when she next opened her eyes. She blinked and looked around. Then as she was about to grab another marble of pseudo-moon on the pouch, a trickle of blood dropped on her face.
She saw a swirl of crows darkening the sky. They all started exploding and dropping as soon as Rylie sees them. Her eyes became wide and her heart beat fast against her chest. It's already happening and she can't go yet. Not yet. She was still in the middle of her training!
She closed her fist tightly and she remembered what she read in Kelly's handwriting in the book that she pulled out last week.
'The crows that Nora will send cannot be seen by the werewolf who hasn't awakened their own Lobo form. We are the only ones who can see it.'
It was a flaw to Nora's plan.
If she thinks she can use Rylie or any of the pack to let Alpha Gab willingly gives her own blood. The heretic witch had another thing coming.
She took a marble out and crunched it inside her hands. Then after that the whole place came to darken again and the full-moon looms from above her. Rylie recited the ritual again and before she knew it. She was once again inside her mind.
Her wolf lifted its eyebrow and scowled at her. "This is the sacrifice we are willing to take."
Rylie nodded. "Let's go."
She narrowed her eyes at the Lobo's dark form. The Lobo did the same and snarled. Then it started running towards her again. Rylie ran towards it too and manifested a sword again in her hands. This time it she was surer of her movements. She jumped in the air and slashed at the Lobo. Her grey wolf also bit the Lobo on the hind legs. It was an intense back and forth. She was almost crippled but she managed to won again.
It was being extremely difficult to fight the Lobo time and time again as she used the pseudo-moon marbles. But every time she was about to be defeated she thinks about Macey's situation and what her father endured and did to survive.
Rylie opened her eyes and blinked. She gripped the last marble of pseudo moon in her hands and gritted her teeth. Her eyes are blurry and she was a bit dizzy.
'You think you won because you defeated me?' A booming voice inside her head started to talk and this time she hasn't started the ritual yet.
Her head pounded with an intense pain and she doubled on the ground clutching her head.
'Now, what should I do with you, puny human?'
"S-Shut up!"
'I told you. You will let me out sooner than later..' Then laughter echoed inside her mind.
Rylie sat straighter and she almost bolted out of the circle when she saw a dark form ahead of her. It looked like her Lobo form. But she blinked and the image banished.
'Don't believe me yet?' Another laughter and Rylie closed her eyes tightly.
She shook her head and crushed the marbles inside her hands. "I-I won't let you win."
The marbles cracked inside her hands and the whole place became dark. The full-moon looms a head. Rylie's fangs and claws extended. Then she howls.
"H-hu inru rfa abpss o rfa s-soev."
Her mouth bleeds as she fought against the control of the lobo form. Her eyes too are bloody red as she scanned the place around her. She was sure that it was bleeding too as she wiped the fluid that formed to the side of her eyes.
She closed her eyes tightly and imagined the place inside her mind.
She will not let it win. Her will to rescue the pack is more important to her than anything else right now.
