Alpha Gab's POV
It's been three days that they had been holed up in the shack and inside the iron bar. The mating season had her whole pack members bat sh*t crazy, but she could hold out because she's the Alpha. Then she remembered Rylie and Aly. This is the first mating season that Rylie will experience, and she hopes that Aly will help Rylie get over it because she wasn't there.
The only thing Gab was also thankful for was that the witches gave them food once a day. But it wasn't enough. The witches are deliberately starving them to death so they won't be able to use even their strength in fighting back.
One of her pack members became a blood bag for the witches. Soon they will all die from exhaustion and lack of blood. But the witches don't care. They will just move on to the next in line.
She thought that she could escape after observing for two days, but the witches were brilliant. Barriers were containing them. Hunter is chained to the back of his iron cage, trying to fight the two witches with the stake the other day. Her plan failed, and now they are stuck and don't know what to do anymore.
"H-Hey!" Gab shouted and grasped the iron bars she was in.
Two of the witches came inside and went to Hunter's side. Hunter gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. She can tell the Hunter is nearing his limits. He was shivering, and his face was white as a sheet. She needs to act fast, or Hunter will die.
"What is it, dog?"
"I am sacrificing myself for my pack member. Get my blood; it is more potent for magic."
The woman narrowed her eyes at her. "Why?"
"Y-You heard me." Gab laced her voice with an ounce of her Alpha voice, but it wasn't taking effect at all. "He is going to die, and I am his Alpha. I take responsibility for his life."
The guy smirked and went to her side. He opened her cage and yanked her out. Gab gritted her teeth from the pain that laced through her armpits with his forceful yanking. She stood up and looked at the witch.
They are not powerful as she initially thought. They are a henchman and low-level witches. The reason they could overpower her is because of the barrier and the magic seal around them.
They made her sit on a chair, and the man was about to insert a needle in her arms when she felt a sudden shift in the atmosphere; then, shouting was followed with a howl.
Her heart surged with hope.
The witches were momentarily distracted and looked at the door, suddenly afraid. She took that moment, grabbed the needle, and stuck it in the right eye of the man. He shrieked and tried to pull it out.
Gab kicked his feet, and he stumbled to the ground.
Then her attention was shifted towards the woman. She took the trays on the table and hit the witch with them. The witch shriek and clutch her face.
Then she grabbed the stake from the sides and stabbed it at the man about to get up. He gurgled and sputtered blood as he tried to take the stake away. But he wasn't able to get it out.
Her pack members cheered on the side, and she threw them a haughty look as Hunter pointed behind her. The witch shook her head, and Gab threw a roundhouse kick to the head of the witch, and her head hit the table before hitting the ground.
The witch was knocked cold, and Gab crouched down to grab the keys from the man's pocket and went to the iron bars.
"That was so good. It felt like watching a movie." Hunter snapped his fingers a few times, and Gab just smiled at him.
