Aly's POV

"Why am I stupid?" Aly bumped her head on the table they were sitting in. Kelly and Hunter looked at her miserable state. Both shrugged their shoulders at her.

Kelly had a disappointed look on her face.

"You really told her that you didn't find your mate?" Kelly glared at her. "Now, Rylie won't believe a thing you say once she finds out the truth. You are such an idiot."

"But that is still until the full moon," Hunter said, holding his beer up before sipping on it.

"That's 2 days from now," Kelly said. "So I think. Field is such an idiot."

"She got the Alpha. Alpha Gab is her second mate. If she doesn't end up with me. Their marriage and relationship are still gonna work because it is blessed by the Goddess."

Hunter didn't say a word but looked at her with pity. "You told me that I should go get my girl, but you are a coward."

Kelly looked in Hunter's way and smiled playfully. "Aly won't even handle herself properly once the mating season began. True mates are attracted to each other intensely. It will take a lot of willpower."

Aly glared at her friends and looked properly in Hunter's way. "Well. What about your mate? Are you gonna kennel somewhere inside the pack?"

She felt so uncomfortable talking about her 'so' called relationship with Rylie. There's just something she can't decide at the moment. She doesn't want to go up against Alpha Gab. That woman rescued her from becoming part of nature. It's a sacrifice she has to make.

Hunter's face lit up with what she said. He leaned in and whispered.

"Yeah. I think we will have our own family soon."

"That soon?" Kelly's eyes became wide. "You're fast!"

Hunter's smiles widen. He looked so damn pleased with himself as he leaned back and crossed his arms. And Aly can't help the envy she felt. Will she be as happy as Hunter when Rylie and her kenneled somewhere? But where would they go if Alpha Gab decided to take Rylie forcefully away from her?

Aly stood up, and her lips moved in a thin line. "I have to go. We still need to spar."

"Good luck reeling in your desire, Field." Kelly threw her head back, laughing while putting a hand to her sides.

Aly playfully threw Kelly some chips that she took from the table before walking out on her friends. Steeling herself from seeing Rylie again.

----------------------

Aly walked to the field where they are supposed to meet, and she stopped for a moment to admire Rylie. The latter is lifting a dumbbell on the ground.

When Rylie looked up, she immediately smiles at Aly and shyly waved her left hand.

"Are we going to start?"

Rylie put down the dumbbell and rubbed her fingers together.

Aly nodded and pick up a wooden stick on the ground. She walked around Rylie.

"You have to train yourself to use any weapons you can in the wild." Aly held up the stick she picked up. "How can a stick turn into a weapon?"

Their eyes met, and Aly forced herself not to think about kissing those lips. She needs to concentrate, for goodness sake!

Mate!

Aly closed her eyes for a moment.

Shut it. We still need to prepare her for the Full moon. We can't let her get sidetracked.

When she opened them. Rylie looked at her with furrowed eyebrows.

"Are you ok, Aly?"

"Y-Yeah. Don't worry about me." She said. "We should focus on your training. The full moon will show up 2 days from now. Every preparation is crucial for you to win over your wolf."

Rylie nodded, and her face got serious.

"Ready?" Aly put up the stick of woods in her hands and dashed towards Rylie.

Aly smiled when Rylie was able to dodge her attacks. She swings the stick over Rylie's head. The latter was able to lean back, grabbed it, and wring it from her hands.

"Very good. Now. In the full moon. Your wolf will try to take over. You have to battle it out and win. It will use every available tactic. Don't let it win." Aly breathed out her instructions.

Then her feet swung up in the air to kick Rylie on the sides. Rylie didn't see it coming, and Aly needs to be merciless. So she followed up her kick with a punch on Rylie's jaw. Rylie staggered and almost fell down, but she was able to brace herself and glared at Aly.

"I told you the wolf will use every tactic it has. It will shapeshift into the persons you don't want to hurt. Friends and your families. Even the dead ones."

Aly's face became somber when she remembered her parents and her previous pack. The wolf inside her used it, and she almost got defeated. But she steeled herself and remembered that they all died.

She sees Rylie's attack seconds after the latter made a mighty swing of her feet in the air. It missed Aly's face. She was forced back.

Rylie smirked. "Careful there. You said it will use every tactic it has on me, but I think it will be alert."

Aly shook her head. Damn. Rylie looked so sexy doing that smirk. Her own mouth curved up in a corner smile.

"I wasn't distracted at all. I am trying to read your every movement Rylie."

"Hmm..." Rylie tilted her head, and Aly relaxed for a bit but as soon as she did that.

Rylie made a jab at her, and she wasn't ready enough to block it. Her nose was the first one to be hit. Aly felt the stinging pain first, and she clutched her nose, staggering backward as Rylie made another kick behind her ankles. It made her lose her balance, and she fell down.

Her back and her butt hitting the ground first.

"Aw!" Aly clutched her nose, and when she looked at her hands. There was blood on it.

She was about to look in Rylie's direction, but she stopped when Rylie pinned her to the ground.

"Now. I win. How about that?"

Mate!

Aly felt the pounding of her heart inside her ear. The slow rhythm made her blink rapidly. Her wolf got excited with Rylie close to her like this. Her body began to burn up, and she felt her ears and face gets hot.

Shit! This is a dangerous situation even for Aly. She has to get out!

Rylie wasn't really pinning her to the ground, and Aly used her upper body to lift Rylie off of her and switched their positions.

Her breathing came out fast and heavy. She pinned Rylie's hands above her head and leaned in.

"No. You're not. As long as the enemy can use her hands and her whole body. The battle isn't over yet. You have to render your enemy un-capable of fighting back. You should always be on your guard."

With that, Aly got up and dusted her pants off.

"The lesson is over. Let's do this again tomorrow. I need to tend to my duties."

She couldn't look Rylie in the eyes.

"A-Aly.... I— "

"See you later." She made a quick look in Rylie's direction before leaving her dumbfounded and still on the ground.
