"D-Did you two fight?"

Aly looked up and lifted an eyebrow. Hunter winced and put up a 'v' sign with his fingers.

"It's not a fight. I just don't want to get distracted now that so many things are happening."

Rylie walked past Hunter. She doesn't want to talk about it, but if she doesn't put it out there. She's sure that Hunter will pester Aly. Aly doesn't even say anything, and she sees how she got pissed when Hunter challenged her.

"Who's Nora anyway?"

Rylie couldn't help but ask.

Hunter looked at Aly as if asking permission to speak. Aly nodded her head but kept her mouth tightly sealed. Rylie got intrigued.

A witch who made Aly speechless?

"W-Well. Nora is Aly's ex-girlfriend." Hunter twitched his shoulders. "She was really beautiful, and she was kind to us. Specially Aly..."

Rylie felt like she had been hurt by what Hunter said. Aly had a girlfriend before? Then how come she said that she was waiting for her mate? Then she found out that Aly had an ex-girlfriend, not a werewolf, but a witch. Is this why she hated witches?

She clenched her teeth and closed her fist tightly. Her anger was beginning to rise. Her jealousy is also skyrocketing. Stupid werewolf hormones.

"You told me that you didn't have any girlfriends before?" Rylie couldn't help but ask. Her voice is laced with a coldness that she can't even fathom where it came from.

Aly turned towards her. There were conflicted emotions written in those sky-blue eyes. "She doesn't count because she's a witch! I erased her from my history."

Hunter put his hands in the air, and they both looked at him and glared.

"Stay out of this, Hunter." Rylie hissed.

"Why did you have to open your blabber mouth, Hunt?" Aly closed her right eye, and Rylie could see her jaw move.

"O-Ok. I'm out of here." Hunter took a step back with his two hands up in the air. His palms faced them before storming off to somewhere.

Maybe Aly doesn't know that Hunter will tell her that Nora is Aly's ex.

Aly glared in Hunter's direction, but Rylie didn't take her eyes off Aly. She put a hand on her waist and waited for her to say something.

She swears she can't afford to think about other things, but this one pisses her off. Aly kept a secret from her.

Are you in a relationship yet? Did you claim her, and did she claim you?

Her wolf interjected from her thoughts, but she shook it away from her mind. Still waiting for Aly to say something. Aly opened and closed her mouth. Then, when Aly must have noticed that she wouldn't let go of the topic. Aly sighed.

"Yes. Nora is my ex, but I was still young, and besides, I hated the witches when I learned that she used me. She used me to get to Alpha Gab and tried to take her blood."

Rylie knew the Alpha's blood was a potent magic source, especially for the witches. But hearing from Aly that she hated that witch for using her made her heartbeat relax a bit.

"I—I..." What should she say? Aly had a good reason to keep it a secret. She doesn't want to even remember that witch. So what should she tell Rylie?

"It's alright. I know you are jealous. You are still not talking to me but I can wait." Aly smiled that half smile of hers. It was also with a hint of naughty and knowing smiles. "But don't worry, Ry. We didn't get to the second base as I did with you in the Raven Crest cabin."

Aly turned around and walked in the direction of the training ground.

Rylie's face instantly became hot with what Aly said. Why does she have to say that? Nonetheless, Rylie followed Aly.

"S-So. What should we do now?"

"Don't you want to relax for a bit? I think you could use some of that." Aly looked at her. "Your shoulders are always tense, and it's not good for a werewolf. We tend to snap when pressured or stressed."

Rylie consciously took a glance at her shoulders. True enough, her shoulders are tensed. Her muscles are clenching, and she can feel certain parts of them that are sore. Maybe she needs to relax for a bit and forget about the responsibilities she took up on herself.

"W-What do you have in mind?' Rylie cleared her throat and looked away. She can't look at Aly without getting her face hot.

"Let's go to the river near the pack. The witches won't be able to know where it is because it has our protective seals."

Aly smiled again, and Rylie bit her lip. Mine...

I know.

Rylie shushed the inner wolf inside her and followed silently behind Aly. She knows that her wolf remembered what Aly said about Nora, but she also can't help but feel irritated. So Rylie just looked around to stop herself from going on that road.

They turned towards a ravine, and she could hear the running river nearby. The atmosphere is also a bit cold. A sliver of cold sweat ran down her spine.

"Are you cold?"

Aly had her eyebrows crossed when she glanced back. Rylie immediately shook her head. She doesn't want to entertain the thoughts running inside her mind right now, but she can't help but notice that Aly scrunching her eyebrows like that made her look cute.

"Here it is!"

Aly spread her arms out, and Rylie looked toward the river Aly was pointing at. On the other side, there was a fall, and it was running directly towards the river. It looks crystal clear because she can already see the rocks in the river.

Rylie snapped her head towards Aly when she heard a rustling of clothes and immediately looked away. Her face was hot, and she fanned it.

Aly's abs are so prominent. She wants to run her hands around it.

"W-What are you doing?"

"I am undressing to swim in the river." Aly chuckled. "First time seeing me naked?"

"O-Of course not!"

"No need to be shy. We are mates, after all, and get used to seeing me naked. We shed clothes when shifting, after all."

Rylie's eyes widened when, from her peripheral vision, Aly took a step towards her, and Rylie took a step back.

She put her hands up in front of her to stop Aly from coming closer. "W-What are you doing?"

"Making you look at me." Aly opened her mouth. "Ry. I know you hate that I am pushing you to be better, but I will not. Not this time. I know you have to grieve, and grieving takes time."

Rylie opened her mouth but closed it again. Aly is too good for her. She's really lucky to have a mate like her.

"Aly. Thank you for understanding me." Rylie looked down. "I'm sorry for pushing you away. I-I don't know how to do this. Please just give me time."

Rylie felt a hand grasp her own and she immediately felt warm. Aly's hands were warm, and their warmth travelled from her hands towards her heart.

"I will always be here, Ry. Next to you."

Her wolf jumped up and down inside her mind and Rylie shook her head. Mate...

Rylie looked into Aly's eyes, and Aly didn't take those blue eyes off her.

Her hands started to sweat, and she slowly closed the distance between them. She wants to taste Aly's lips again. Witches, were-witches and other werewolves be damned.

She wants Aly.

Their lips met, and fireworks exploded inside Rylie's mouth. Her wolf howled in ecstasy.
