Aly smiled when Rylie kissed her.

She wasn't prepared for the kiss at all, but maybe their wolf needed to get off some steam from the highs that they had during the fight. It's true that once they touch each other, marking each other is inevitable. But Aly has to be gentle, and there's no need to push through with the mate bond. So making out is probably fine.

Rylie is still new to this werewolf thing.

She pulled Rylie's hips towards her and nimble those pink lips.

Aly heard Rylie's moan, and it turned her on big time. She pulled Rylie closer and messed her hair up. Rylie smells so good that the rush of blood immediately goes down her southern region.

She wants Rylie, but everything has to be proper, and there's so much going on around them that she doesn't think Rylie will be able to pull off once their mate bond starts. So she quickly turned away.

She saw the pain in Rylie's face and quickly shook her head.

"It's not like that. I don't want to take you just because, and I want our first time to be proper, Rylie."

Rylie blinked a few times before nodding her head. "It's alright, I understand. I'm glad you stopped because I might lose control of my wolf and think about you all the time, which will be detrimental because of what's happening around us."

Aly grimaced and bit her lip as Rylie picked up her clothes. Rylie didn't say anything, and before Aly could follow her. Rylie quickly turned into her wolf form and ran away from her.

Shit! What did you do, Aly? Aly bit her lip and closed her eyes tightly before opening them and picking up her clothes. She shook her head as she looked around at the river and the falls around her—the clear water and the rocks adorning the running water.

She sighed—way to ruin our chance.

Rylie isn't ready for a mate bond, and you know that. Aly reprimanded her wolf.

Aly knew that everything was new to Rylie and her wolf was still young. There's no way that she will take Rylie; she is not ready for all of it. Once they consumed their mate bond. It would be so hard to pull away from each other.

There were still loose ends that they all needed to solve before everything could be ok.

Just then, a crackling of a branch echoed around the whole area. Aly whipped her head around. Her eyes narrowed.

"Who's there?"

There was no answer, and Aly ran towards another crackling of a branch. She was fast enough to see a branch cracked and moving on the ground. She looks up to find who it is, but the person is also quick to have disappeared that quickly.

Who would venture along the werewolf's territory? She would know for sure if it was just an ordinary person, but it wasn't. There's a possibility that it was another werewolf or a witch brave enough to go to their territory.

---------------

Aly still thinks about the person spying on them when she returns to the pack's location.

There were so many things on her mind at the moment. Rylie is mad again, and there is a possibility of a traitor among them.

"What happened?" Kelly tapped her on the shoulder, and Aly must have missed it if Kelly hadn't stopped and held her on the shoulder.

"W-What do you mean?" She couldn't look directly at Kelly's eyes because Rylie had been closer to her these days than her mate. And her wolf is becoming jealous of their closeness.

"Well, I mean, I saw how upset Rylie was. She locked herself in the library, reading through all the books about our history there."

"Isn't that what she was supposed to do before going back to her college life?"

There was an irritation in her voice that she didn't hide.

Kelly's lips tugged up in a corner, and Aly knew it would be a barrage of teasing again.

"Someone didn't get some. Isn't it?"

Aly's mouth curved up. Then she shook her head. "Stop." Then she lightly shoved Kelly's shoulders.

Kelly walked with her when she went in the direction of her cabin. Kelly's expression became sober.

"We still haven't figured out where Lina hid the vials. We almost got caught."

Kelly put a hand to her heart. Aly took a glance in Kelly's way. "Nathan hadn't said a single word. Maybe he was so frustrated. I can't blame him. Macey is the only child he has."

"Hanna also isn't going out much. We really are devastated because of what happened."

They both sighed. Tomorrow, Rylie will return to her world of ordinary people and still hasn't controlled her Lobo form. Everything around their pack is a mess. She also doesn't know how they will have it fixed. Alpha Gab is so busy these days trying to fix everything. They fortify their boundaries, and the pack should follow additional rules if they don't want to get in trouble.

"Alright. I'll leave you be. I have something to do."

Kelly tapped her shoulder and then jogged in the direction she was heading earlier.

Kelly's eyebrows scrunched together.

"What are you going to do?"

"W-Well... I need to do something."

Aly shook her head when Kelly smiled at her, turned her back, and began jogging. Maybe Kelly was also trying to unwind in her ways.

Aly went inside her cabin and looked around. Rylie had already set up her bag, and Aly looked around. Her heart had become heavy with loneliness already. She was used to waking up in the morning and being greeted by Rylie. Tomorrow it will be different. Rylie will return to her world, and Aly is stuck in the pack's location. She was still looking for something that she could fix.

Why don't you fix your relationship with our mate?

Shut it. Rylie needs to focus, and once we consummate the mate bond. It would be harder to stay away from each other.

Her wolf scoffed and didn't say anything.

Alright.

Aly went out of her cabin and went straight to the library. She stopped at the door and looked at it.

Aly sighed.

She hurt Rylie's feelings, but is it an acceptable reason? She wants Rylie not to regret anything.

So, instead of going in, she looked at Rylie from the window.

Rylie was hunched over a book and poring her face into it. She would scribble in her notebook a few times before looking at the book. Her father's journal is on the side, open on a particular page. She would look at it and scribble it on a piece of paper.

Aly smiled. She took the good choice from all the possibilities that could have happened from the moment they met.

She never thought Rylie could get a hold of her heart by being herself.
