(Rylie's POV)

The pack didn't talk about Carlos and what he did. Maybe it's another rule of the pack again. And it was kind of annoying because everyone just goes back to their work like nothing happened. Some of the pack members had already visited Aly. But some didn't, especially Carlos's kin.

She looked at Aly's sleeping face and felt pity. Aly did her best to stand up for her, and Rylie couldn't do anything. She's just a level one werewolf and can't even transform fully. What could she do against Carlos? He was built like a tank! Plus, that ridiculous rule that she can't do anything about. Why can't someone meddle between a fight to save a person?

She gritted her teeth. Her irritation came back when she remembered what Carlos said about being a rogue. That they are just a piece of shit. But people like him are the ones who should feel shitty, not Aly. She saw how that words affected the latter. And if Rylie sees Carlos, she would knee him where it hurts the most for hurting Aly.

"Thank you for standing up for me and fighting for me, Aly." Rylie combed Aly's hair. She then dips the towel in warm water and wrings it before cleaning Aly's face again. There was still dried blood on Aly's hair and neck. But she already cleaned some of it.

"Aly's a fighter, and she has techniques; that is why I gave her the title of a beta." Alpha Gab sighed and sat on the sofa. "Carlos is such a sore loser, and he couldn't accept it. I would have kicked him out of the pack if not for his father. But he is born here, and I don't have a choice until he leaves himself. His mistake was fighting Aly."

Alpha Gab stood up and smiled at her. "Thank you for taking care of Aly."

"It's my duty, Alpha Gab. She did save me multiple times now." Rylie bowed a little and looked at Aly's face again.

"Well then. I'll leave you two." Alpha Gab looked at her thoughtfully for a second as if she has something to say but decided against it.

Alpha Gab went out of Aly's tiny cabin, and Rylie walked towards the kitchen to cook something for Aly. Aly needs to regain her strength for them to continue their training. Plus, this is what Rylie could do for the latter.

She cooked a soup and a few scrambled eggs before putting them into a bowl and a plate. She was careful not to spill the food tray when she went to Aly's bed.

"Oh. You are already awake?" Rylie put the tray of food on the table and sat on the chair near Aly's bed.

Aly weakly smiled at her. "Thank you for doing this, Rylie."

Rylie felt herself blush. "It's ok. You helped me a few times, Aly. This is the least I could do for you."

Aly smiled again, and Rylie felt like melting. Those blue ocean eyes threw her an amused look. Rylie suddenly felt shy and avoided Aly's gaze. She might really have a crush on this hottie. She can't help but notice every damn thing Aly's been doing this past few days. Not to mention that she really wants to touch those toned abs of hers.

"Well. If you don't mind, Rylie. I have a favor to ask. Can you turn the t.v on? I tend to watch the news whenever I can."

"Y-Yeah, sure." Rylie turned around, took the remote control, and turned the t.v on. But her jaw dropped when she saw her grandma and her mother on the news. They looked like they haven't slept for a while.

"My daughter is a stubborn child, but we really want her to go home. So, wherever you are, Rylie. Come home. We won't ground you anymore, so just come home." Her mother grabbed the microphone from the reporter and is already crying. And her grandma tapped her mother's back.

"Rylie. I miss you. Please.... come home." Her grandma looked like she didn't comb her hair for a few days. Same with her mother, who has dark circles under her eyes.

They are looking for her? Rylie closed her eyes for a second and bit her bottom lip. She also missed her mother and her grandma, but she just can't for now.

"Rylie.... I think you should visit them and tell them that you can't go home. You still have to master your instinct. You might hurt them if you go back now. And witches might hurt them to get to you."

The reporter looked at the camera. And the video pans into a poster of her pictures. All over electric posts and walls on her grandma's town. There was a text underneath her image that says 'missing.'

"They have been doing this for two weeks now, and no one had seen this girl. So, if you have information. Please call the number on the screen or email them. The world is a dangerous place for a woman to be alone out there. We hope nothing happens to her."

The camera pans again, and it came back to the face of the reporter. "This is the news for today. Thank you for listening."

Then the credits for the show started showing up.

"They must have been worried to go on a live broadcast Rylie." Aly sat on the bed and looked at her.

"But I thought I made it clear that I am safe? That they don't need to worry?"

"They care; that is why, Rylie." Aly bowed her head down. "I think I should go with you. You should explain to them what happened. You need to think about them too. You just can't go around doing your own thing."

Rylie felt like she's been pricked by what Aly said. It's true. She never did consider her mother and her grandmother's feelings about what she's doing; that's why she's in this situation. It really won't hurt if she just listens to them sometimes. She can't believe that her stubbornness would cause this.

She put pressure on her right temple. This is making her, headache.

"So it is settled then? I'll come with you and explain. But we need some protection spell before we go to your grandma's house."

Aly noticed the worried look on her face, took the bowl, and sipped the soup before picking up the plate of scrambled eggs and ate it. "Wow. This tastes great. You know sure how to cook."

Rylie's smile widens. "You are surely making me feel better. Aly. I didn't cook that. It's a ready-to-cook sachet of soup."

"Well. You must have cooked it with love."

Rylie shook her head. She's glad that Aly has already regained her strength. But she was still worried about her grandma and her mother. Aly's words keep on repeating inside her head. She can't forgive herself if something happens to her mother and her grandmother because of her. Her father died while proving the existence of wolves, and she wants to know what happened. Maybe if she dives into this world about werewolves. She will know what happened to her father.
