(Rylie's POV)
Rylie's eyes became wide when she saw the branch she was holding. It broke into two, and the rest was smashed into pieces!
Shit! Shit!
She moved backward as soon as the wolf circled her. Looking for a way out of there, Rylie looked around. There is a lot of snow on the ground, and every step will reveal her location. She has nowhere to run and hide. She can only fight right here, right now.
You can fight, and you're strong too.
The wolf shakes its head and opens up its mouth. Those fangs looked menacing, and Rylie felt her sweat dropped on her forehead. Her heart started beating fast in fear. The wolf advanced towards her. Its sharp eyes regarded her with something she couldn't figure out.
Rylie knew that the wolf was studying her. She thought that she would battle a mindless wolf, but it turned out that what Aly, Hunter, and Kelly said was true. It will use anything it has to defeat her.
This is a mind game. Rylie thought as she regarded the wolf's eyes.
It threw its whole body in the air, and claws slashed at her! Rylie was able to evade it by rolling to her right side. She then immediately threw a punch on its rib cage. The wolf winced in pain and snarled at her when it landed on the ground.
This time. It wasn't laying mind games with her!
It's heading straight for an attack as it comes towards her again and again. Rylie dodged, but the wolf was quick. Its claw was able to graze her right shoulder.
Her white shirt immediately bleeds red on the shoulder. Rylie winced and held it. She thinks that the wound is not that deep, but she can feel her blood flow out of it. Her blood dripped on the white snow.
Shit! She stood up and took a step back. She looked around her and picked up another branch. The same one she had when she batted the wolf away.
That thin stick will not cause damage.
"But it will stop you for a little while!" Rylie ran in the wolf's direction.
She can't run and hide, but she will fight even if it costs her life! Aly, Hunter, and Kelly didn't train her for nothing! She will show them that she can overcome this.
Rylie swung the branch, and it landed right on to the wolf's skull. Her strength wasn't enough to bring the wolf down to its knees, but she knew that it felt the pain from that impact.
She threw the branch to the ground and picked up another and another.
This is her chance while it is down!
She smashed and smashed towards its entire body until its knees gave out. She even stabbed it with the broken branch. It was hit in its upper body, and blood dripped on the snow from the wolf's wound.
Rylie staggered backward as she caught her breath.
Is it dead?
Rylie picked up another branch and prodded it. But as soon as she did that. The furs began to shed, starting from the hind legs. It became a foot then slowly formed into a human. She gasped when she saw its face. Her eyes became wide, and she put a hand to her mouth to stop herself from screaming.
"A-Aly?"
No! What have I done?!
"R-Rylie...... h-help me.... please...." The Aly in front of her gasps and sputters out blood. But she stopped herself. This is not the reality she's in. She was outside looking into the distance, and Aly was right there! Waiting for her to pass this test. It's not her, Aly!
