CHAPTER 66

Rylie's POV

Lina looked at her and smiled. Rylie smiled in return, but she knew it was awkward. She was paired with Lina because Aly insisted on it, but Rylie wanted to go with the Elders. But here, she was stuck with Lina not because she didn't want to but because, according to Aly, she will be protected. If she's with the witch, which she realized is true.

Lina can easily protect Rylie when it comes to witches, and she clearly knows what she is doing.

"Don't worry. We will rescue them in time."

Rylie wants to ask why Lina is doing this. She doesn't want to know that the witch is just doing this out of her own agenda. But if Lina is honestly just trying to help out, then it's a win-win situation for them.

She nodded her head. After Aly disappeared inside. They went to the side of the mansion, and Lina killed one of the witches.

Lina apparently has a dagger conveniently tucked inside her robe. It was like watching an action movie. Lina immediately slashed the throat of the witch when Rylie sneaked up on him and tapped him on his back. The blood is still on her upper chest and her face, which she wiped early on.

She grimaced at Lina's way, but the witch just chuckled.

"Where do you think Aly was brought?" Rylie asked Lina when they were walking inside the mansion.

"Don't worry, she can shapeshift anytime." Lina winked at her. "Those binding spells? They can't hold a candle to my spells even though the witches in their coven think that their spells are pretty brilliant."

Rylie's eyes narrowed at what Lina said. Is she associated with the witches in this coven? Is Aly correct in thinking that Lina can't be trusted?

Lina must have noticed the look on her face and put her hands up. "Don't look at me like that. I am a genius, after all. I don't know these people."

Rylie sighed. If Lina is not associated with these people, then she can trust her. They walked to the path they were on. They need to rescue the children and women of the pack, and Lina tells her where they are. Lina said that the children and women are separated in the coven to not arouse rebellion among men. And Rylie thought it was a sick thing to do. Hold your loved ones against you so you can't fight them.

She's beginning to loathe the witches like an actual werewolf does.

"Watch out!"

Rylie looked in Lina's way and jumped on her. They both thudded to the ground as a blast of energy passed through them.

"S-Sorry," Lina whispered that and immediately got up.

Rylie looked at the witch who threw that, and her eyes went wide. The woman that she encountered on that fateful day of becoming a werewolf!

"What are you doing here?"

The woman hasn't shown any magical display of power, and Rylie knows right away what the witch is. She's mighty and was able to contain her magic.

Lina turned her back on Rylie and faced the woman.

"Why, of course, rescuing the prisoners," Lina said. "Mind link, Aly now!"

After Lina said that. Lina threw a fireball in the other witch's way. Rylie closed her eyes tightly from the onslaught of lights right before her eyes.

Aly! Shapeshift now!

Rylie smiled at the bored tone from Aly. She shape-shifted too. Just then, a witch appeared at Lina's back, and Rylie ran towards it and slashed it.
