(Hyndor's POV)
"That dog is lying, is he?" Hyndor narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth.
They have been searching the whole crater for a while now. No houses or werewolves are roaming the area. All he can see are trees and rivers leading to nowhere.
"He died uttering that word, and our High Priest didn't even need to extract the information from him with magic. He hates his pack. Probably, one of those werewolves banished." Recia said, raising her eyebrows. "Just look there. Try to use your magic for something."
"You know that wolves can use magic too. Not in the same way we could, but they can. They must have set up a ward spell."
Hyndor kicked a pebble out of his path.
High Priest Raindale picked them to precisely locate the pack's location. But it was almost 1 week of searching but to no avail. Werewolves must have learned a trick or two from their attacks and invasion.
Hyndor hates these missions because, for him, it's too dull.
There's no action unlike, attacks and invasion. There's violence and bloodshed. He smiled and remembers the experiment they are making on the werewolves children they captured.
"You are thinking of something sick again, are you?"
Recia looked at him with disgust written on her face, and Hyndor jaws tightened.
"You never take pleasure in hearing their cries? They are our enemy, Recia. They hunted us! Outed us to the humans and took pleasures when our brothers and sisters died in the witch trials!"
Recia closed her eyes and stopped for a moment. Her eyebrows frown. "Yes. They are our enemy, but I am against the experiments you are doing. Those are children! They don't know any better. What separates us from what they did? Hates only begets hate."
"Your ideologies are all shits, Recia. Let's see what they will do to that face of yours once they captured you." Hyndor sneers the word out, and Recia Flinched.
"L-Let's just continue our search." Recia went ahead of him.
"You say all that ideologies, but you are still doing this stupid mission," Hyndor said between his breath.
Recia glared at him. "Just shut up, will you---"
Hyndor stopped when Recia put out her hands in front of him and put a finger to her lips. She squinted on the trees and crouched a little lower.
"W-What? Werewolves?" His body began to tremble with excitement. Finally, Some actions!
"Yes, but----"
"What?" He irritatingly peeked where Recia is looking at. His eyes widen.
There are eight people in a group walking on a trail. And they all appeared to be wearing a metal on their neck. The glint is making his eyes hurt. There was clearly a spell marking on the metal.
Hyndor smirked. Werewolves can hide their scent, but they aren't invisible when a witch spots them.
"We should follow them and ambush them tonight." He can't hide his excitement.
Recia looked conflicted for a moment, and Hyndor put a hand to her shoulder.
"Recia. Don't tell me you have that inner conflict again. High Priest Raindale will not blink twice, making you an exile. You are fooling him for now, but he will eventually see through your armor."
"I know Hyndor." Recia closed her eyes for a moment, and when she opened them. She had a still expression on her face. "Let's just follow them for now. We are not enough for 8 werewolves."
